Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

The one that I went up against sure didn't keep up. The CL Type-S didn't either. There's a Type-S owner that trolls around here once in a while. I forgot his sn, but he keeps trying to compare it to a G35.

Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

Funny, I'm unaware of a "new" CL, or a "new" type S for that matter. RTFQ (acronym, not yelling)- read the full question. To answer the q, the new TL is really close, but not quite, in a straight line, but it's all over but the crying for the TL once the road starts to bend. Nice fwd sedan with typically conservative styling and (no less typically) extremely competent execution. While I've yet to take one out for a spin, I've read that the 6 speed is an absolute joy to row, as well. I'm really curious to see if Acura returns with a coupe, and if so, if they are willing to take Infiniti's lead and build a sports coupe, as opposed to the sedan with 2 doors missing that was the last iteration of the CL.
With every newly released car over the past year, even cars costing as much as twice the price, my decision to buy the G is further reinforced. Man I love the G.

Haven't encountered one yet.

Are they coming out with a TL type S? If so that one ought to make things very interesting...

Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

i read somewhere that they're working on a TL A-spec model for 2005 with some upgrades like 300+ hp, revamped suspension, some revisions in body styling, and interior changes.. i'm not sure if it'll pan out or not, but this shows that everyone is tryin to follow infiniti/nissan's lead..

Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

liu69 i read that somewhere too. The "concept a-spec" in the LA autoshow at the moment is probably the upcoming type s. I mean its kinda stupid to name it a-spec if the current 04 TL has a package called A-SPEC with the aspec badging on the rear. I forgot the article i read but acura said that they were releasing the car in 2005. It says its gonna be 300+ Hp and it has more features and cosmetic upgrades. Also suspension upgrades as well. It says nowhere whether it will be FWD or RWD or AWD. Maybe it might be AWD like the upcoming RL.

Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

Doesn't sound like 300+ hp to me. The new TL is nice though, I think I would choose it for a 4 door sport sedan over the G35sedan. No offense intended to anyone.

Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

I believe the current TL A-Spec kit that is available doesn't increase horsepower, the A-Spec concept being shown was 300+ hp with no indication if such upgrades would be available to the public, it's more of a demo of what is possible with the car.

Re: 04 TL Keeps Up??

I also owned a TL-S previously and i still go on the TL forums. That is why i know the news with all this stuff. The A-SPEC package is a completely different thing from the A-SPEC concept
