What's with the road noise on this car?
I just bought a 2006 G35 coupe /w premium + sports package (auto).
I didn't realize how noisy it was when I test drove because I think I was just excited about the power/looks.
Is it because I have the sports package? There's almost no point in my premium (bose sound system) because the road noise is too loud I can't hear the music.
I'm thinking of selling and going for the new G35 sedan if it's more comfortable.

So are we talking about noise only here? Or "comfort" as far as is not a smooth ride?
If you are talking about SMOOTH ride then change out the springs, sport tuned suspension means higher spring rates, higher spring rates mean stiffer/rougher feel but handles better. Go with lower spring rates to get a smooth ride.
Now as far as the noise, I suggest changing the tires, those Bridgetones that come with the car are pretty noisy.
Do some reasearch on the forums as far as quiet tires and there will be a slight improvement on "noise"

plain and simple..Kenji:
Smoother suspension?
Look into:
Swift Sport Machs Springs for the G35
Quieter Ride I suggest the following tires:
1. Falken Azenis ST-115
2. Yokohama ADVAN S.4.
3.Bridgestone Turanza LS-Z
Just to name a few

G35 Coupes and road noise go hand in hand. I just changed back to my original Goodyear RSAs from the Avon 550 A/S due to the maddening noise coming from my front Avons. What a difference! The more aggressive the tread and the more wear on the tire will increase road noise. The front tires are the culprits for the majority of the noise, and the negative camber is the cause. You may be able to quiet it somewhat, however it is characteristic to all Coupes. The Sedans do not have any issues.

with the noise go to the experts at Tire Rack and ask them which tire is the
best/quiet/safe and has great tred life.......they'll probably say Michelin. Mine
are quiet and I expect to get 30K miles out of them......and yea, I drive my
G35 at speed or more!
