Need Help ASAP

Yesterday my clutch blew. i don't know much about cars but i need to know what needs to be replaced.

The story is i was on the highway and i noticed my rpm was slipping when i gas. then i exited off the highway then i lost speed and i couldnt acclerate anymore. all i smelt was clutch. i could put it into any gear without clutching. the car still turns on but i cant start moving.

i called a buddy that works at the dealership and he said i needed to replace a few things like the flywheel too cause of i blew the clutch.

is that true?

what do i need to buy to fix the problems? i was thinking of getting aftermarket items instead of factory. i was thinking of high proformance parts. he qouted me something like 1300 for the flywheel itself. i rather just get an aftermarket one that would increase proformance for my car.

someone please help me!

I just had my clutch replaced by the dealership and that consisted of the clutch, flywheel and some bearing rod (not sure what that is).

The dealership gave me a discount on the parts and everything installed came out to $1710.

You can purchase an aftermarket clutch and flywheel (ie. JWT setup) for $850 and then have a local shop install it for like $500. I was thinking about this setup, but I wanted to start a relationship with a dealership and I wanted to stick with stock parts...so they have a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty on their parts I believe. I thought that was worth the extra $400.

Buy aftermarket and have it installed elsewhere. You will save some bucks, I hear the aftermarket ACT Clutch and Flywheel are one of the favs, haven't tried them though.
