Ring Ring
Ring Ring
I live in Calgary Canada. Sometimes the temp dips to minus 30C. When I start my car under these conditions I hear a ringing sound coming from the engine. It lasts about 2 minutes then goes away when the car is warm. Anyone else have the same problem or know what it might be?

Re: Ring Ring
LOL, it's prolly the engine saying -- "holy icebox-- someone turn the freakin' heat on"......
That's 'Brass Monkey' weather bro. Have you thought of plugging the block heater in for a couple of hrs in the morning? Works for me.
It may not cure the 'ringing' you're talking about (that's prolly drive belts), but the engine will thank you, and reward you with faster warmups, better gas mileage, less ware and tear, and other advantages.
