I'm official too!!!!!

Hello G35 Peeps,
OMG I can FINALLY post on here. (smile) I've been dying for this car and finally got it on Saturday. What a thrill it was to drive to work to the past 2 days. I LOVE IT! Watch out!! There's a new G35 DIVA in town!! ;-)

This car is sooooo AMAZING!!! Through all the excitement, I managed to have a couple of heartaches already. The first one when I smelled a major burning smell as soon as I got it home. Then last night I got another rude awakening when the low tire pressure light & chime came. That really freaked me out. Of course, I'm still reading my owners manual so I had no clue what was going on. I had to pull off the freeway and
look it up in my manual. (he-he)

I said all that to say, thanks to this site I found the answers to both my minor issues real quick. The low tire pressure light, was due to the lows temp here in Houston for the past couple days - high 30's low 40's. The burning is almost completely gone too.

P.S. Did I already say how much I LOVE this car??? I know you're feel'in me. ;-)

Welcome to the club. I'm in Houston too. If you see a 20-something bald guy in a red coupe on Westheimer be sure to wave to me. Which dealership did you buy your G from???

Re: I'm official too!!!!!

Always nice to have another lady car enthusiast here. Welcome.

Most of us had the burning smell thing (from the brand new exhaust system I think) and it went away in a few days, never to return. Regarding tire pressures, my coupe will lose about 1 psi a month in each tire regardless of weather, so I top them up pretty often (mine's an '03 and thus has no tire pressure warning system). I've also noticed that, unlike my old BMW 325is, lower pressures don't improve the ride quality much at all, but they do significantly degrade the incredibly crisp handling and steering response (at least with the 18's and Pilot Sports anyway). It was the opposite in the BMW so I kept the tires about 3 psi below recommended pressures. I keep them at spec (35 psi) on the G.
