My new motor is finally in! I go in next Tuesday to have my motor replaced under warranty for oil consumption. So wish me and my G luck. I only hope since I will be breaking it in this time I will not have the same prob again. I bought my G with 13xxx miles.

nice! well, while you're at it... if you do have a 6MT, might as well upgrade your clutch!

Mine was using about 1 - 1 1/3 qts per 1k miles. First oil test was 1 1/3 qts
after 1k miles second test was just over 1qt after 2nd 1k miles. These two tests were done after I went in for a rattle and was going to go ahead and get oil changed at 2500 miles while it was there. They called me and said the car had less than a qt of oil in the pan! That was 2500 miles since the last change. My dealer has been awesum in helping me with this though. Its not their fault Infiniti won't own up to the fact that theres a design flaw in these vq motors. If I want to go FI I'm going to have to buy a friggin 335i coupe.
I just can't see boosting these cars I don't have the $$$ to buy a new engine every year.

I'm on my second motor and it's still consuming oil.. that's right, the new one. Good luck.

Btw.. the way you break it in does not matter. This is coming from experience. If the engine is flawed, it's flawed. If anything, I say break it in hard.

Thats my main concern. I can't see the logic in replacing the motor if the problem hasn't been addressed. Don't get me wrong I'm glad I'm getting the new block and all BUT if it doesn't fix the problem I'm back at square one again. I have all but decided I'm trading this thing in next year and getting an
335i coupe or a vette. I had a '99 C5 w/Z06 LS6 motor. I miss my v-8 torque and sound. I love the g's exhaust and it is fairly quick for a v-6 with a weight problem. But I'm not going to worry every time I want to mod my car that the warranty might be voided and I'll be screwed. I still think that the G is the best sports coupe for your $$$ out there but this oil crap has pissed me
off. I guess i'll either have to go with american muscle and the cheapo interior or go to the dark side and buy german. I'm not a big BMW fan but the
ability to add a chip and tune and bump the horsepower close to 400 for the 335 has my attention.
