Sisters 330ci Feels Faster than my g35 coupe?
I have been doing searches and everyone "auto and 6speed" says they can beat 330cis pretty easily.I dont know if any of you have ever driven both before to know from experience, but I've been driving both my auto g35 and my sisters 330ci a lot lately. Hers seem so much more torqueier. I mean a little gas and hers goes, but my g35 doesnt feel quite as fast???
When you race a 330, does it get you out of the hole and you catch up??

It's more likely gearing ratios on the BMW is a little more aggressive. Do a search and check out the ratios between the G and the 3 series
- Don't argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.=P-

330Ci is a pretty quick car. With a manual trans and good driving, it should do mid 14's easy, which is REALLY close to the G35 coupe.
But the G35 coupe has a higher trap speed, which is indicitive of it's higher horsepower. Once you start to hit higher speeds, the G35 should pull away steadily.

I was going between the 330CI and the G35...I test drove the BMW and felt it to be pretty responsive...but I would have to say that my G35 feels slightly more powerful thru out the entire power range...glad I got the G!!!!!

Re: Sisters 330ci Feels Faster than my g35 coupe?
The 330ci has a lower torque peak, and thus feels (and is) more powerful lower in its rev range. The difference is that as the 330 starts to run out of steam at higher revs, the G35 is just starting to feel its oats. Try running your sister's car gently up to about 4K RPMs and then floor it, and do the same in the G. The G should feel much more powerful up there. Overall, in an all-out 0-60 run, the G should easily beat a standard 330ci because of its greater power in the higher RPM range.

Re: Sisters 330ci Feels Faster than my g35 coupe?
My friend rented a 330i automatic last week and it felt very quick and it did feel faster than my 5speed G. So we raced each other on a open road from a standstill. We both stepped on it till 60mph and it was very close we did these twice but did not go high speeds but it look like I was about to pull away after 60.

According to Road and Track, here's some comparison data:<table><tr><td></td><td>G35</td><td>330ci</td></tr>
<tr><td>Weight</td><td>3435 lb</td><td>3130 lb</td></tr>
<tr><td>0-60</td><td>6.1 sec</td><td>6.2 sec</td></tr>
<tr><td>1/4 mi</td><td>14.6 @ 98.6</td><td>14.8 @ 95.4</td></tr>
<tr><td>60-0</td><td>117 ft</td><td>129 ft</td></tr>
<tr><td>skidpag</td><td>0.92 g</td><td>0.85 g</td></tr>
<tr><td>slalom</td><td>67.7 mph</td><td>63.1 mph</td></tr>
<tr><td>Top Speed*</td><td>155 mph</td><td>128 mph</td></tr>
<tr><td>Price 6mt</td><td>$32,450</td><td>$36,800</td></tr>
</table>
* Top Speed is electronically limited for both
Spec wise, the G35 beats the 330Ci in every way. On the street in a straight line race, it would be a driver's race.
