Exclamation 15k mile service

I am sure this has been discussed before, but here it is anyway. I am up for my 15k miles maintenance and the Infiniti dealership wanted to charge me $385.00 to service my car. I thought it was a bit excessive so I did a search here at the forum and I found out (not surprised) that the Nissan dealership will also work on my 2006 G35 Coupe. They will charge $185.00 for the same service. So I set up my appointment to drop off my car at the Nissan dealership to have the service done.

This is going to become more of an issue for the 30k miles service, and if I can do that at the Nissan dealership I will get it done there too.

Does anyone here foresee any negative issues with taking my car to the Nissan dealership instead of the Infiniti dealership for the scheduled services?

Just a heads up, I do not want to pay more than I have to!!!

I am also adding a poll to get some feedback and to raise awareness.

Then don't take it in for a 15k service. Honestly 15k is no more than an oil change with inspections. Well actually no I'm wrong. It's an oil change, in-cabin filter, air filter, and inspections. What I did was go to Nissan for an oil change, pick up the filters and install them myself. All in all I paid $60 for the so called 15k and it runs smoothly.

But if you want to take it in, by all means go for it. I'd take it in Nissan because they do the exact same thing as Infiniti but for 50-70% of the price. Won't void the warranty or anything but keep the service paperwork.

Two negatives for me for the 15K/30K services.

If a recall needs to be done, such as when I needed my fuel hose replaced, they could just do it at the service when I took it into the Infiniti dealership.

The Nissan I normally use does NOT do loaner cars.

The only other reason I can think of to go to the normal dealership is that they "may" be more willing to help you with a problem in the future if you have a history of going there, and not just when you have problems.

On the other hand, my dealership seems to charge a little below average for their services. Some dealership prices I've seen posted here are unbelievable.

I've done all my oil changes at the Nissan dealership across the street from work, and my 22500 and 37500 services. Plus replacing my front brakes last week out of warranty.

Service........Infiniti vs Nissan?

I've brought this incident up before but it's worth considering.....I was in
my Infiniti dealership picking up some parts and asked the service mgr how
much they charged for tranny service.....$300. The next day I was by the
Nissan dealership and asked the service mgr what they charged....$120. I
even made sure they would be using the required J fluid. Later that week
I was at Infiniti and asked the parts mgr what the diffrence in price was
his answer was "we use higher quality fluids/parts than Nissan." The only
reason I'd return to Infiniti would be for warranty service!

I'm still under warranty and want a loaner, so I take it to the dealership.

G35 Coupe "Sport Package"
There is a garage near my house that is home to a Porsche race team. They do all my regular maintenance like oil changes and they have also helped install most of my mods. They have become very familiar with my car and I trust the quality of the work they do...never had a problem. If it is a warranty issue, I would take to the dealer. Anything else I have done at the garage. When I get an oil change they don't just change the oil and filter, they also do a full inspection of the vehicle. They can also inspect the work they have already done on the car i.e. sways, springs, exhaust to see if everything is okay. They have a full alignment setup, a dyno and they also sell performance parts. I got my Stoptech rotors and SS lines for a great price through them. The dealer here does not have this kind of service. I would not get an alignment at the dealer because they scratch the wheels. The best thing about this garage is that all prices are excellent compared to Infiniti dealer.
