New owner--what should I be aware of?

I bought a G35 2007 coupe yesterday. I sold my 2000 Corvette to get the G. I know the C5 generation of Vettes had standard, common problems such as fuel sensors, rocking seats, etc. Are there any issues with this generation of the G that have affected a lot of people? Thanks.

Congrats and welcome to the 'Driver boards, Blue Lion. If you opted to get your G equipped with a 6MT, be sure to keep a watchful eye on the engine oil level.

It appears that the '05, '06, and '07 G's, which are equipped with the 6MT, are prone to above normal engine oil consumption. There are quite a few threads, here on 'Driver and over at My350Z, that address this issue.

Other than the said . . . Enjoy your new ride.

You might be prone to a nose bleed going from the Corvette's seat height to the G35s seat height! Enjoy your car. It should give you very reliable service.

Blue Lion, I also went from a '99 C5 to the G. I bought a '05 w/6mt. I'm getting a new engine right now due to oil consumption issues. I did the whole carfax thing and I bought a low mileage 13,000 mile car. Other than the oil issues and random trunk release issue my G has been a great ride. Infiniti does
have better service than GM. I just miss my vettes torque and hp. I wass going to go FI with this car but not now. I might have to 335i coupe if I want more hp. You will like the car its more comfortable than a vette and you've got a backseat. The exhaust note is better than a vette stock for stock comparison. The G looks great w/aftermarket deep dish rims also. Good luck w/ the new ride you'll enjoy it.

You might want to invest in a clear bra as the factory paint is pretty soft.

Welcome Aboard........

You won't have any problems, like any other car just keep an eye on how
it's running. I don't have squeaks/rattles or oil consumption issues and
own a C6 toooo! Like the G better now that I've made some intelligent mods.

Yes.....I have also heard that going to full synthetic oil also helps.
