Re: 15000 miles service

Just call your dealer and find out. That is the best source of information. Then you should ask how much other people are paying for their 15,000 mile services...

I only have 8,000 miles on my coupe so I can't help you out.

Re: 15000 miles service

I'm taking mine in today for the 15000 mile service...I will be sure to ask the dealer. From everything I've read...the oil change is the only thing listed. The cost is something like $189. I will need to know what else is being done for that kind of money.

No offense but that sounds like a freakin' ripoff to me. 190 bucks to rotate your tires and change your oil?? Thats all the "work" they really appear to be doing.

Unless of course you were being sarcastic

Re: 15000 miles service

I don't know about you, but trying to clean a pleated filter is like trying to re-use coffee filters!!

I hope what they really did was replace it! This is a $30 or so part, and the labor is probably 1/2 hour ($40-50), so this is more of what's in the cost at 15k miles.

Re: 15000 miles service

All the dealer service's before 30,000 miles aren't worth it. I used to work in the service dept. for honda and I can tell you from first hand experience that it is a rip off. The service advisors make good money from those "minor" and "intermediate" services, so they will tell you anything to get you to buy it. Basically, they change your oil and "inspect" the major parts of the car, which they already do when you get a regular oil change. After they will write suggestions such as "Needs Brake Pads soon". Again, they would give you the same advice when you go to get an oil change.

The only service that would be worth the money is the 30,000 service where they actually replace stuff on your car, such as spark plugs, air filter, etc and go through a thorough inspection of all systems on the car; Not just a half-assed inspection like the other services. Even though its pricey, usually $300+, its also serves as a warranty supporter. If something goes wrong with your engine, tranny, etc and they didnt catch it during the 30k inspection, then they cant blame it on your driving, mods, etc.

Re: 15000 miles service

I have heard that you need to adhere to the dealers scheduled maint. plan in order maintain the warranty coverage (this came from my friend's Mitsubishi dealer). Is there any truth to this? Is this the case with Infiniti? Or is this only for the 'major' interval service (e.g. 30K mi) as someone sugested?

Re: 15000 miles service

You need to adhere to the services outlined in the maintanence section of your owner's manual. It does not have to be performed by the dealer, but you'll want to save receipts and invoices if you get it done elsewhere. If you do get it performed by the dealer, you should compare what they're trying to sell you with what actually needs to be performed -- by sticking only to what's required, you can save some money, even at the dealer, since they usually pad the service intervals with extra optional fluff.
