acceleration noise

my 05 coupe 6mt makes a rattling noise from the engine bay area when i accelerate from low rpm around 2000 to 3500. i've realized this recently when i drive with my windows down, i do not hear the noise when the windows are up.
anyone have a clue what it could be?? i understand that rattles could come from almost every part of the car... but just wondering if anyone else have this issue recurring in their G.
oh.. by the way, all the parts i have on there are stock... for now... i have no exhaust system that could cause the rattle.

I have heard the same noise in that RPM range, and I wondered the same thing that you did. I have a bone stock 05 6mt coupe too.

i had the same problem on my 07 AT G35C and i went to the dealership and asked...they said that the ABS system is activating i.e. itz doing a system check on the ABS brakes...it happens everytime u start the car and and accelerate in a slow speed...nothing to worry bout...

OK - if it is happens whenever you hit that speed level, regardless of throttle, you have a loose heat shield to a bad exhaust hanger, or something else slightly loose.

Have you recently had the car serviced, like an oil change? Many of the hoists/posts can rub a heat shield and bend it slightly, allowing it to rub.

Also, it could be the plastic underlining the engine, if a screw is loose, etc., that load point would cause it to vibrate.

2nd if it may be pinging on bad gas? - try filling up with premium gas from reputable station (Shell, Exxon) - give it a few miles and see if it solves the problem.

just some ideas...either way does'nt sound good - get dealer to look at it.
I'd agree with checking the oil level. A while back I thought either my engine was pinging real bad or the clutch had bit the dust. Turned out my car was near empty on oil. Very strange as it wasn't long after getting an oil change. After the Infiniti tech filled it I kept a close eye on it and didn't have anymore odd consumption problems. Eh.

My 05 6MT gave a low runmbling sound at low RPM yesterday. I checked oil and add half a qt. The noise subsided. I think the OEM tires are also just noisy and make all kinds of sound on rougher roads.
