well id probably go with an S2k. buuuut my all time favorite car would be either the Lotus Elise or Lotus Exige. You can probably find a used one in the mid to low 30's

42000 miles for a two year old car. Doesnt sound like anything I would want to buy. I guess you could find a wrecked Lambo for the same. Point is get a good value for the car. Get what fits your needs. And get something that isnt going to fall apart after a few miles on it. 42000 miles on a two year old car sounds like a ****ty deal to me. And getting it worked on is going to be a lot of fun since those miles were probably pretty hard miles.

If your going used to the tune of more than 4 years old, I'd stay away from the BMWs, Merecedes, and Audis. I wouldn't want to own one out of warranty. If you don't plan on keeping it out of warranty, then the M3, AMG's, etc are all great cars. You could even do a used Porsche boxster (preferably S) for low 30's depending on the year. The 2005s have the better interior, but the S models are still mid-40's.

The Exige is a great track car, but unless you are tracking your car regularly, I can't see why you would want to live with a car that you need to crawl into, is noisy, and has no low end torque.

The G37 will be more than low-30's unless you get a base model and wait until the dealers start negotiating on price.

Tough call. I'd say you can't go wrong with the s2000. Fun car but a little lacking down low. If that doesn't bother you, I'd go for it. Otherwise, what about a new Infiniti G sedan S - 6mt? You might be able to do low 30s and it will be new with warranty.

get something you're comfortable in, personally I love the S2k but I can't fit in one comfortably, so keep all of that in mind.

Other than that, M3 all the way but make sure its still under warranty for the first few years at least.
