I haven't heard of the G35 on the list either in Canada nor the US. Hondas, and Chryslers, especially the mini vans and Neons seem to be the most common target.

You should'nt have yelled at him. Instead, walk close to him, pretending it not your car and at the last moment, give him a good beating.

Re: Caught a G theft in progress

Truly, i feel your pain. Glad to hear you're ok and the car's still with you.

Maybe they weren't after the car or interior stuff. If you had wheel locks on and wheel lock in a place common to the dealerships, they may have been going after that key to get your wheels. If they got the wheel key cleanly, they wouldn't set off the alarm or need to take the car. And we all know that unless you can find them on ebay, those are $800 wheels on the mtcoupe. Ugh, what a terrible thought.

Best story i ever heard about criminal "justice" was a carjacking in wash., dc. Guy tried to get this car, had a gun, struggled with the owner. Owner was ON DUTY FBI coming home at nite. He shot the perp dead. Too bad---no trial, no jury, no pleading innocent, no getting out after 6 months, no blaming it on childhood. G-O-N-E.

Get a good Viper alarm system. Still one of the best out there.

Re: Caught a G theft in progress

Not sure how far away you were from your car at any given point, but my TW-I has a 1/4 mile TX range and has warned me more than once when people have bumped into my car in parking lots... If someone was drilling into any solid surface on the car, the alarm would most likely go off and the keyfob would vibrate. Kind of handy to have...

Re: Caught a G theft in progress

I'd hate to say it, but if you wanted a car where you didn't have to worry about it getting stolen or keyed, you should have gotten an Aztek. Unfortunately truth about a nice car like the G35c.

Re: Caught a G theft in progress

I'm very wary of malls and well, places like Deep Ellum... Seems like any part of the day, you'll see guys just wandering around looking for an opportunity to jack something. Given some of the $$$ cars I've seen down there, I wouldnt have expected him to go for the G, maybe he was looking for something in your car. I guess you didnt expect it either : / Were you in a lot very far off Elm?

If you're familiar with Deep Ellum I was actually going to the Lizard Lounge and was parked in a pay surface lot back behind the club.

I will post the quotes to get it fixed after I take it in to my infiniti dealer tomorrow.

Re: Caught a G theft in progress

The AR-15 is more then likely an airsoft gun, and wouldn't stop a charging dog unfortunately. Guess the appearance could possibly deter a thief though.

Either way, i'm still waiting to see the pics. I'm not sure how going through the rubber door seal, will eliminate the factory alarm system. Anyone???? Only way to shut it off it to either hit the fob unlock button, or unlock with the actual key. Anything else will set off the alarm. Even if a thief were tp get into the car and unlock the doors from the inside, the alarm would still go off. Not exactly where the weakness is?
