Re: Have Both

Hey guys, this is a clublex reunion. Well, I used to drive a Gs400 and now I have my lil coupe. It feels as if the coupe is a tad faster on the low end. The GS was a real monster up top. The g35 does feel much safer at higher speeds though, it does sway as much as the GS did.

MeanGene,
Is your G35 stock? Getting in the low 5s doesn't seem like it is...

Nope!

Cupid - Not quite! I have just about every non-F/I mod available for my G. Currently I'm running an AEM CAI; TS reflash; Crawford plenum; UR pullies; grounding wire kit; 350 Evo throttle body; Level 10 2800 rpm T/C plus V/B recalibration; & Borla headers/test pipes/true dual exhaust. I'm getting the power to the ground via 18" iForged Evolutions ( 10" wide rears w/Nitto 275/40/18's - 11.1" footprint ). I'm scheduled to have my nitrous installed in early March & eventually will fit some Nismo cams in the VQ. I'm also just waiting on the Wilwood brake kit to come in from Jeff @ Evolution ( need to have better binders on to stop this horsepower! ). Last mod should be ( for now!! ) the 3.91 gears from 350 Evo. Eventual plans should find some form of F/I as soon as the T/T kits have been out for awhile.
If it's true that the V-6 doesn't really break in until 8-10k miles then I'm only going to get stronger as I made my runs with only 3k miles on the car! Hope so!!

BTW - Who else is over here from the Clublexus website?? I know Marcus ( TXSTYLE ) & Dr. Rick from those days. I still keep up with my old co-Electronics moderators Percy & Pete
( Retrodrive ). Here's a flashback of my own!!

Re: Nope!

You got some Mods there. However you are missing some of the typical bolt ones and some of the Nismo R tune parts. After all that you should be over the 300hp NA power!

Re: Nope!

X -man - Tell me which mods I've missed so far. I thought I had most of them but educate me. BTW - I forgot to mention my Eibach springs & sways plus the Stillen grille. The former CL guys KNOW I haven't left the stereo alone. Just a simple upgrade to all Focal Utopia speakers powered by a single McIntosh amp ( for now!! )

Pilots take a long time to warm up- get some heat in them and the traction will come (I'm Canadian- we all suffer the same plight for two thirds of the year.)

Re: Me vs GS400!!!!!!

X-man - I guess we've confused the same acronym. When I said "CL" I meant "Club Lexus" & not the Mercedes site!
As far as the LSD goes, I'm just waiting on B.J. @ 350 EVO to fix me up with some of his 3.91 gears in a differential with some form of LSD ( like the Nismo or Giken ). Any suggestion as to your preference for a pure street car??

Curtis - Thanks for the welcome - glad to be here! I have some pics of the G but they're on my computer at home. When I get in from work I'll post them.
Yes, I have an auto-tranny but it's modded as well.

Re: Me vs GS400!!!!!!

I dont know much about lsd but i would do Nismo just because its nismo.

I personally like my car to be all Nismo'ed out. Looks and sounds cool. You can or I can say all my parts are Nismo hence my car is a Nismo car. Har har har. But i know there are parts nismo has but is not as good as other brands. But since you want all pure race car i would mix and match. I've read a real insightful comment somewhere. "Shoot for your goal. If you goal is to have high HP then get parts that target those areas. Same goes with torque. Many products out there shows they have gains but you have to look into the parts and see at which RPM does it produce the most and see if its to your liking and goal." I dont know if that is insightful for you but it sure as hell is for me. Sorry i couldnt be any help

Re: Me vs GS400!!!!!!

i hope you have a 6sp g35 because i ran my friends gs430 the other day from 40-90. i was ahead half a car until we hit 90 and he just starts pulling pretty hard, so i just shut off.I was surprise to hear u say that you pulled in 4th because tahts when he pulled on me. i left it in regular auto mode though. i'm sure i would beat him if we would have ran the 1/4
