After reading many complaints here and on other forums about the G35c (stereo is "the worst", Porsche is faster, wheels aren't 25", etc) I figured I should finally add my two cents. I have a fully loaded (sans Nav) black on black 6MT. I just passed 4,000 miles this weekend. Here are my problems:

The engine: It is ridiculously loud! I mean, when I have my windows down, I can actually HEAR it! All that purring makes me think I am trapped in a cat pound. I never had this problem with my nice, quiet Honda Civic.

The trunk: What is up with such a small space? Granted, I never actually use it for anything other than my golf clubs (that fit no problem), but it sure is a lot smaller than the space in my minivan.

The stereo: Oh, the Bose system is TERRIBLE!! When I turned it on, it was playing some horrendous rap music. I immediately turned it off and have never touched it again. For this kind of money, you think that Infiniti could have outfitted the system with a rap-regulator!

The tires: they are the worst! Every time I start real fast, they make this screeching/chirping sound!! Again, I always used to floor my Civic and it never did this!

The gas mileage: With the price of gas these days, what was Infiniti thinking making an engine that takes premium!! If they had their heads on straight, they obviously would have made this car to run on tap water.

The unwanted attention: Everywhere I go, people are asking me about my car. TOTAL STRANGERS!! Who do they think I am, Michael Jackson? Infiniti should do something about these unwanted intrusions in my privacy. I have called the 800 number, but no response yet.

The paint: well, I saved the best for last. The paint is atrocious! I spent 2 hours cleaning my car last week, and then after only 3 days of rain, it was dirty again!! For $35,000, can't I expect a car that will stay clean longer than this!!

I strongly discourage anyone reading this from buying a G35 Coupe. Especially in black without the aero package, like mine. That new-ish Accord thing is outstanding, I recommend buying two or three of those, just in case you lose the first one in the parking lot.

first of all... you shouldn't have bought a car if you want your engine to be quiet. this car has a lot of horsepower which means that it's powerful! when a car has power, it means that the engine will be loud, not so loud that it seems that you have modifications on the car, but loud enough for people to say that your car has power just by the sound of the engine.

second... this is a sports car. this car is the skyline of japan, but just infiniti. there is a reason why the car isn't big. some real sports cars (not in america) don't even have trunks. have you ever thought about how they're trying to make cars look these days? and if you need more room, then why did you buy the G35 coupe??? at least go for the sedan or buy another mini-van to fit your needs, don't blame it on the car... it's your fault for making that decision.

third... bose is excellent!!! you can't go wrong with it if you have one in your car. and for the rap that you don't like... how about you preset your radio stations so you won't have to hear it. common sense!

fourth... the reason your screeching/chirping again is because you have so much horsepower. your civic obviously didn't have that, so don't compare it to the car you have now. and for anyone who knows a lot about cars... screeching is good because you can prove to others that your car can spank them.

fifth... the reason the car takes premium again is because your engine if powerful. a G35 won't take regular fuel. also it doesn't deserve it. the car deserves to be eating well so that it can perform well.

sixth... if you don't want people to ask about your car, then you shouldn't have bought one to attract attention. duh! it's a new car... people won't just sit there and say neato! it's just a way of them complimenting you.

seventh... paint is paint. what can you do? you bought a black car, you can't expect it to be squeaky clean for a week. black attracts everything, and will show everything that it attracts. don't take it out if you can't stand if getting dirty.

one question for you... if you wanted a car that could fit your needs, then why did you buy the G35??? before you bought it, you obviously knew the consequences. so why buy it?

You know what's really a pain? They didn't bother to move the cigarette holder to the left side for US-spec cars. There's no point in me thinking about taking up smoking, now, as I'll have to reach clear across the center console to get at my pack!

And that Nav screen. It obscures the analog clock. So what do they do? They give you a digital clock up in the corner. Even Windows 3.1 came with an analog clock! Sheesh.
