Tranny Noise

I've got a 03 6MT coupe and have been experiencing tranny noise and occasional grinding into 3rd gear. I made an Appt to take her in this Thursday but I have the Injen CAI. I know there isnt a direct correlation, but do you guys think it would be fine to leave it on ? Thanks for your help !

Re: Tranny Noise

it should have nothing to do with it.

But if they say otherwise, then they have to physically prove it, or else your warranty still applies and if they keep giving you crap, then go to a different dealership

Re: Tranny Noise

Hey Rambo.. you have always been the SHI& !!
Thanks man..
By the way.. I am formerly "zaid918"

I guess I'll take it to them on Thursday with the intake on.. I also heard they get a good source of income from Infiniti on repairs.. so i dont see why they would turn me down....
I hope to get a new 5th gen Tranny

Re: Tranny Noise

by the way Rambo, are you satisfied with the Borla? I was thinking either the Borla or the Nismo.. How about the grounding kit. Did you get any good results?

Re: Tranny Noise

Definitely take it in!!! I got 1000 miles on my G35 6MT and all of a sudden I was getting this grinding sound and the stick was feeling as if it was going to pop out. I took it to the dealership and as soon as I started mentioning the grinding sound, they knew it was the transmission. They ordered a new tranny and replaced it...so get it fixed while still under warrenty! Supposedly this is one of the common problems amoung the newer 6MT's.

Re: Tranny Noise

Yea, I am definitely taking it in.. Its is not grinding every time.. but I will get occasional grinding.. Its the sounds as if you are throwing it into gear without your foot on the clutch...
OUCH ! Are you getting weird noises when downshifting to first ?
