I am about to purchase a new 07 coupe, but it has the pinstripe on it, the dealer said it would be hard to remove and its not like your traditional sticker. Can they remove this cause I think its ugly... I can't believe its an extra $200 for it...

Is it painted on or does it have adhesive on the back???

If it is painted you can wet sand it off. Do not do it yourself you will f it up.

If it is adhesive (sticker kind) you can heat it up with a hairdryer and peel it off. It will take so time!

Good luck!

Make the dealer take it off!

if it's not painted, you should be able to remove it. if it's painted on... it depends. take it to a body shop and ask them.

careful with pin striping, dunno if it's done the same way as it used to, but my last car had it UNDERNEATH the clear coat. previous owner removed it, and it left a ledge in the clear...

From my experience.. anything added to a vehicle is charged to the vehicles invoice (cost) at the dealership.
They may charge $200 in the window for it, but it probably cost them $80.
The dealership will then own the vehicle for an extra $80 (cost +$80) and in the end, come out of your pocket regardless.
A painted pinstripe can easily be buffed off.
Yes, I work at a dealership.

Simple solution.........!

Tell them you'll take the car but they can keep the pinstripe and don't charge
me for it......they're not the only dealership! If they give you and static find
another dealership with a like G35 in stock......stand up.....get angry! Chances are the dealership will go along with the demands you're making..

Go to another dealer. You dont body work done on your new G! All the dealers pay the same amount for new vehicles, get the same deal elsewhere.

sucks, but unfortunately youre going to pay for it one way or another. i definitely dont advise trying to remove the stripe on your own.

its not a great idea, i work in the paint field, and the real only way to get it off is a wet sand it, if you cant deal with the pinstripe pick a differnet car, i would not suggest a pinstripe removal on new paint. the dealrers are very happy to get rid of the coupes now to the g37 is almost here, you have them right where you want them. i can get you a car 500 below invoice now, so if its not a sick deal fget abot it! or pick dif car.
