which windshield wipers would you recommend?

Its time for me to replace my wiper blades and I'm stuck.
I've searched this forum through and through yielding no positive results.
I really like the euro-style wipers like the valeo ultimates or bosch icons because they work really well, but how come not so much on our cars?
Which blades would you recommend in general?

I've been happy with my Michelin blades - you can get them at a decent price at Costco.

I have the Bosch Icons. They work pretty good compared to the Excels. They have been on my G coupe for a year now.

Are there issues with windshield contact on the bosch icons like some other members have stated?

I like the PIAA wipers. I've used both PIAA and Bosch, but like the PIAA better. I think the blades have some sort of coating on them, becuase it put a rain-x type coating on the window... I only replaced one wiper, and I noticed water only sheats off on the side with the PIAA wiper, not the side with the Bosch wiper. My jeep has one piaa wiper and one bosch wiper, becuase I intended to buy bosch at the time, but the PIAA wiper had an optional air-deflector on it, so I got that for the driver's side, because the stock wiper also had an air deflector...

After using that combo for almost 2 years, I found the PIAA to be longer lasting.

I've been using the Valeo wipers since last winter. These are better than the bosch icon's I have on my work truck. They clear the windshield very well even in the heaviest downpours. I'd get them again if I had to.

Yeah, i think i'm gonna need a new set myself. I bought rainX wipers for my girlfriends car back in march. So far so good.

Other than that, i haven't had any experience with wiper blades on my G other than the ones that came with it.

Just get yourself some OEM wipers. Everytime i get aftermarket, they never seem to work as well as the originals.

I never use my wipers.
I put Rain-X on my windshield.
Water beads up and blows right off my car.

But, I heard that Rain-X makes their own wipers. Never tried 'em, though.

Yeah, I've used Rain-X brand wipers... I'm pretty neutral about them. I think they are just rebadged Bosch wipers, but I'm not sure.

As far as putting Rain-X on your windshield... That's all fine and dandy when you do lots of hwy driving, but when you are stuck in traffic, you still need decent wipers

I do recommend however, putting rain-x on your rear-windows. Makes it easier to see when it rains, even lightly, as the water will bead. On my G, when it rains, you can tell where I put rain-X on the rear window. water beads up, and it's easy to see out. Where I didn't put it on... Water is all blurry, and the dirt has dried to the window that way, so if it just mists, you can't see out the non-rainx part.
