Re: SPANKED!!!
Mmm.... IFORGED, yummy Don't worry man cuz' like it was said above your car out styles both. Do you use MM or auto mode? I have never raced a CLK500 but I mess with s2000's all the time and usually win (6MT) except in the corners. However I tried a NEW S2000 the other day and he pulled on me. I think the new ones have a differant torque curve and are a little lighter. Don't worry man it's stil the sweetest ride compared with those others. Peace

Re: SPANKED!!!
New S2000 isn't too much of an improvement over old one. I heard they lowered the redline, and detuned it so it was less of a race car, and more of a driver. But Isn't S2000 a driver's race?
And I know the CLK500 is ugly compared to the older generation CLK430, but it's still a nice car. You can't say that our G's outclass them.

Re: SPANKED!!!
Having owned both a G35 and an S2000, I can assure you that the S2000 is a faster car. (Although I hate quoting magazine numbers) the stock '00 - '03 S2000 has been clocked as low as 4.8 and usually around 5.2 in the 0-60. If you don't drop the clutch with high RPM's in the S2000, you could end up with a time as poor as 6.5. (Any good racer knows you should drop the clutch in ANY car with your RPM's around 2000-3000 below your redline.)
IMHO, the S2000 is probably one of the must underrated and underestimated cars around. Too many people consider it to be a slightly pepped-up Miata. Think of it as a sport-bike with four wheels.
As for the 2.2L version (new in '04), it's actually the same engine, just with a longer stroke (creating the increased displacement). The HP is the same at 240, but increasing the torque by approximately 7-10 lb-ft.
If I were to race myself in my current G35 against myself in a S2000, I'd expect my G35 to lose. But I'd enjoy the ride just the same in a car with more bells-and-whistles, more safety, way better stereo, and better longevity.
Plus, I actually get more looks in the G35 than I did in the S2000.
