Adding Infiniti Warranty to an auction car? Searched already...
OK, I'm a newbie. I admit. BUT!! I've done a ton of searching over the last several days and I've found numerous threads about warranties this, and warranties that... VERY helpful information. But I still have a couple specific questions that I can't find an answer to, or might have missed in all that thread content. I'm only asking because you guys have a lot of good info and personal experience. Don't worry, this newbie won't ask what mods to do first.
1. If someone picks up a 2003-2004 G35, and wants to ADD an extended warranty, can you do this through Infiniti even if the car was bought at an auction by a used car dealer/broker? (And has anyone lumped this in with a loan?)
2. If the answer is no, or the answer is "yes, but only if the car has existing warranty," then what aftermarket warranties do you guys use that cover the needed big ticket items that concern us, like rear end click, synchros and oil consumption?
3. (and final question) Bumper to bumper is 4 years, 60k, but powertrain is longer. Is oil consumption, synchro's ect. covered by the longer powertrain?
A client of mine is an auto broker who used to own a huge used "high end import" car dealership, but sold out to do something less stressful. He's been buying at auctions for years, and he's going to an auction that will have tons of Infiniti off lease vehicles and I've given him some instructions on what I'll take.
Ultimately I don't have to buy anything that he brings back, but I've seen his taste in clean cars, and I'd be willing to say he's even more meticulous than I am. But that doesn't mean I want my only source of education about warranties to be FROM HIM.
Thanks in advance, and if you know specifically of a thread that answers all these questions, feel free to point me in that direction!

From my understanding once the original warranty is out, 4 yrs/60k, the extended warranty cannot be purchased, which makes sense from the dealer's standpoint. Transfer of ownership isn't an issue as long as the title is clean and not deemed salvaged.
There are several "aftermarket" insurance companies but the one Infiniti prefers is 'Elite' extended program. More info can be found HERE.

Alright, so from what I'm reading here, the powertrain warranty should cover the big stuff I mentioned before (oil consumption, synchros etc) because the only items listed under "what's not covered" that might fall in Powertrain is brake pads, clutch, and tires. Correct?
POWERTRAIN COVERAGE
• The Powertrain coverage period is 72 months or 70,000 miles,
whichever comes first.
• This warranty covers any repairs needed to correct defects in
material or workmanship.
• Powertrain coverage includes components listed below, supplied
by NISSAN, except for those items listed under the caption
“WHAT IS NOT COVERED.”
ENGINE - Cylinder heads and block and all internal parts, rocker
covers and oil pan, valve train and front cover, timing chain and
tensioner, oil pump, water pump and fuel pump, fuel injectors,
intake and exhaust manifolds, flywheel, seals and gaskets.
TRANSMISSION AND TRANSAXLE - Case and all internal
parts, torque converter and converter housing, automatic transmission
control module, transfer case and all internal parts, seals
and gaskets, clutch cover and housing, and electronic transmission
controls.
DRIVETRAIN - Drive shafts, final drive housing and all internal
parts, propeller shafts, universal joints, bearings, seals and gaskets.
Thanks for your replies so far! Only thing left to figure out is if I can get the Infiniti ext. warranty tossed in under the loan, even though it's bought through a broker/used dealer.
