A Smarter Breed Of Rice-boys In San Diego...?

First off...to make sure I'm not offending anybody reading this...I'm using that term cause it was in a post earlier on this site that also had a link to the site riceboypage.com (hilarious by the way).

My question is...I've had my 6MT coupe since the first week of November, now have 5K miles on it, and don't have a single challenge from ANYONE on the road. I keep coming up behind these cars that I look at and laugh at and just HOPE they would play with me...but nothing...I think they're either scared or getting smarter...gee...I wonder which one...

Yeah I know what you mean! I have had all kinds of accords, civics pull up and rev. JUST TEASE THEM, when you hear their loud fart mufflers go on, just take off.

But lets not get to cocky, we are definately not the fastest. I hope that we can challenge that ugly looking STi thing subaru is releasing hehe.

Yeah, but not without mods we won't. But they do look like crap.

No way the G35 can take out the 2004 STi.... it don't know if it can even take out a 2003 WRX.

Yeah, STi's are bad-*** when it comes to performance. I think they can rival Corvettes in 0-60/quarter-mile times. Not the Z06, but a standard Vette. We're talking basically the same engine layout that's in a Porsche, on a very light car with AWD. That translates into GREAT straight line speed...not sure how great the suspension set-up is though, and I surely wouldn't want to look at one.

talking about riceboys...lol
I remember one night. I was giving rides to 4 people, total of 5 people in my car. And I stopped at the red light.. Next to me a beat up Del Sol with Airplane modded... and some exhaust.. technically it looked stock. As for driving Slushbox (auto) my car is pretty slow. Everyone in the cars were just staring at this.. hideous Thing. Suddenly this guy starting to rev his engine. Hahaha, as soon as right went green. I floored it man..I was like 1/2 car length ahead of him. And then I told everyone to open their windows and wave at that DelSol. I was giving him High five.

The suspension set-up in the STi's are supposed to be fantastic. That and the AWD on a winding road would be awesome. I think that we would have to put some serious mods in to beat it. My last car was a Subaru Legacy GT and what it lacked in hp it made up for in hooking up on starts. The second Infiniti makes the G25C into an AWD like the Skyline I will be camped out waiting for mine.

BTW - that riceboys webpage is hilarious.

The STi and the Lancer EVO are something. They are basically rallye cars tuned for the street. The G35C still have more torque though and probably "feels" more powerful. I think a regular WRX would be a good race with the G35 and the G35 might win. Well.. Unless the streets were wet.

I don't think we have anything to worry about with the WRX - I test drove an R1 spec WRX (I think that was the designation - it does not have any engine mods, just some lighter wheels and badging) and was not as impressed as I thought I'd be. When I test drove the coupe, I was sold the first time my foot hit the floor.

Maybe the legal drag races they hold at Qualcomm are having a positive effect on the local street racing scene.
