Gas gage question?

Any time I fill my coupe my gas gage never shows filled to the top. The pump will shut off but my gas gage will only say its ¾ to 7/8 full? I remember once upon a time it showed a full tank with the needle pointing above the full line. Anyone else like this? Is this normal?

Thanks, Shaun

yea thats normal.. because our tanks our tapered so the fuel is able to run out the tank thoroughly... also there is a sensor in the tank that will tell the pump to stop pumpin and if im not mistaken iv read that the need actually gets ****ed up and tells the system that ur not full when in actuallity you are...

Today I had my coupe in for the exact same problem, they replaced my fuel tank sender unit. Just as I got to the dealership, my TPMS light came on, they say ALL my tires were reading 30PSI, which they upped to 35PSI. As a side note, they off loaded 14 new coupes as I was picking up my car, ALL of them are sold, with another 15 or so due in tomorrow, and ALL sold as well. Saw one with the "chrome" spoiler lip, IMHO, cheezy looking...

I had that problem after I got the recall done. Tank wouldnt read full so they fixed that, and after they fixed that, it wouldnt read below 1/4 a tank. Got that fix then it wouldn't read past 3/4 again. Did that about six times eventually they changed out the whole gas tank and it solved all my problems

It was a recall for me in the beginning, but something happened along the way when they tried to do the recall causing all the problems I had

Just got my car back for the first time in the shop for this issue. Looks like it will go in for a second time because they did too fix my fuel sending unit and it is still broken. I filled it yp and it reads 1/8th full. PITA
