Just finished bringing in my coupe for the 06 Recall headlight fix. They replaced the whole lamp with new ones. Despite all those with reports say they should have not done the fix, I would have to disagree.

Dealership did not scratch any part of my car, the light are angled lower and more at an eye level as oppose to all over the place like the OEM lights.

I look at it this way, Ive got brand new headlight for free. Futhermore, I'm not blinding oncoming traffic like I was before.

My 2 cents is do it. Doesnt hurt, and you get brand spanking new lights.

 

think its more about the dealer performing the recall than the actual recall...

 

Well, good for you. But think about how many cars they F'd up before they finally got it right..

I mean, all they had to do was mask the fender with painters tape before removing the bumper. That would prevent 100% of the scratches caused by re-installing the bumper.

 

I got my car back from the dealership with no issues. Shinny brand new headlamps!
