Cell phone?... hmmm...
With the module installed there was some stall converter issues which didn't allow the vehicle to launch consistently. On top of that, the cruise control system quit working properly.

??? Odd... I'm not an electrical expert but it seems strange that these issues would be present given the area of modification being addressed... oh well - my hopes are further destroyed now.

Thanks for the update.

Actually, it makes perfect sense, as the actual area we were trying to modify was the electronic brake signals being sent to the ECU. It wasn't really a 'vdc' bypass as much as it was a 'let the car throttle and brake at the same time' bypass.

I know - it seemed like a great mod! I was really excited about it and was actually mentioning it in threads... I just didn’t realize it would affect cruise control... but apparently it does and that sux

I wasn’t doubting what you said I just wasn’t aware of that being a potential problem - and it seemed odd that it was somehow linked... I should re-read the DIY mod that has been done - It could be mentioned that cc is a casualty of this mod...

All G35s have VDC. Certain version of the Z have TCS only (no yaw monitoring).

I've never had a problem with pressing the button and VDC remaining on. I believe that 5AT owners believe that VDC is still partially on even when off, but 6mt owners have total control of the car with it off.

The KPtech module simply simulates pressing the 'VDC OFF" button.

Random rant:
VDC blows when you're trying to pass a slow moving RV in an onramp lane that ends in 200 ft and you ****** 2nd only to have the car bog... and then you look like not only a complete *******, but a complete ******* that can't shift right.

K. Back to VDC techy stuff.

But the smile won't come on your face when you land up in the side of the highway or off the road when you have it off on a rainy night....Keep it on for rainy days...On regular hot sunny days feel free to turn it off to pass old RV and spirited driving...Otherwise, leave it on for the love of GOD...There are so many threads on the forum where drivers crashed their G35....Please don't let it happen to you...I hate to see a good G down...Becareful, the G tends to break loose on the wheels with it off. If you are not a good driver it will surprise you.

If you disconnect the yaw sensor (or even the VDC computer) it will fault the system out and turn off ABS and all VDC functions.

The side effect is that you will not get one, not two, but three lights on your dash indicating that there is a problem.

I never turn it off. It's not that I can't drive, I've been racing for almost 10 years. I just like having that leash 99% of the time that says "WTF are you doing? Those Michelins cost too damn much!"
It's only that 1% of the time that I should turn it off... and it irritates me because it's ME that forgets it's there when I try to do something stupid.

I look at VDC like the little angel on your left shoulder keeping the devil on your right foot in check.
