tGTR overlay install
tGTR overlay install
Installed Bat's tGTR overlays last night. I love the look of them, although up close, you can tell I didn't do the best job on the install. I'm contemplating getting another set and giving it another shot. The flat parts of the tailight are fine and look great, but around the corners got real tricky and I ended up with some creases. Anyways, heres a crappy pic from my phone. I will take more pics later after work.
Did you have to take your tails off to do this mod or did you leave them on? I think I've got the same style as yours and i was wondering which way would be easier to install them
I left my tailights on. You can wrap the edges by using a credit card, but it was tight around one corner. I feel like it might make it a bit more difficult if the lights were off the car unless you have a clamp of some sort to hold them in one place tight.

And big bubbles you can pop with a straight pin and press air out.
Small bubbles disappear after awhile. Creases...ehhh...hate when that happens. Redo
if ovrly has dried on tail light.
You use a heat gun or hair drier? That helps with stretching/molding/shrinking around curved areas while squeegeeing and helps with no creases.
If you get creases while installing and still wet, pull back to area, spray to keep wet, squeegee out crease, blow drier to shrink and set that area, then keep going.
Patience is the key and keep working/setting moderate areas at a time. Thats what work for me.

Yeah I used a hairdrier. I do have some creases but today it looks as if some of them have bubbled up a little bit and I may be able to make them look better. We'll see. I may just have to get another set and give it another try!!

actually i have the same problems with creases in the edges. I'm contemplating on redoing it aswell. For the most part i think we should cut little triangles on the outer part of the overlays to wrap around the edges so that it will not overlap and crase together
