Encounter w/ a Pontiac Firebird

Short story, Firebird won .

Long story. Coming home Sunday morning in sunny S. CAL, traffic on the streets was light. Saw this Firebird coming behind me. Not sure what version it was, V6 or V8, but it looks like a 00' - 02' model. Looks like he has some aftermarket exhaust on as well. Anyway, we both wanted to make a right on the next light. I was on the right lane, he was on the middle. There were no cars but the two of us. Lights turn green, I floored it but didn't have VDC off. Had half a car on him until 3rd, he started to gain on me and off he went. By the time we hit about 90, he had 1.5 car on me and passed me. After we made the right turn, I caught up with him and gave each other thumbs up . Oh well, props to the Firebird dude. I need to get more mods .

Re: Encounter w/ a Pontiac Firebird

Well, same thing happen to me about a month ago. White firebird with a V8, didn't really race him but he pass me going about 70Mph on a local street also here in S. CAL, anyways we both made a right turn onto another 2 lane street and we both floored it, he was infront of me but we probably hit about 70 Mph, but I have gain no grounds on him. Anyways, I just wanted to point out that there are just too many haters out there.

Im sure it was the V8 Trans Am. If a V6 beat you, you/your car has problems.

Because too many of our members have messed up their cars when they turned theirs off while just taking it easy and then forgetting it is off while taking a corner.
Don't think it cannot happen to you too.

Mine is always off unless there is any kind of weather that is unsafe...but I live in San Diego...and it rains about twice a year...so yeah, it's usually always off...but Merlin is right...it can happen to anyone...my first month with my car I had to learn the hard way...
