I wanted an evo 7 at first but ever since i've been looking for a new car and I test drove the evo 8, it really really grew on me. All i have to say is before you rag on a car test drive it. I sat in the evo and didn't even want to test drive it because i thought the guages were small, the interior was crummy looking, etc, but after i started driving it.... DAMN... the car just put a smile on my face from ear to ear. And granted the interior kinda sux. I think the exterior is hot. Not nearly as nice as the looks on the g, but still i don't think it is ugly at all. Besides the G is in high demand these days (at least the coupe). The evo, at least in NJ, is a lot more unique to drive. Again no disrespect to the G, b/c i think if i had a choice right now b/w the two, it'd be the g.

dude, i am not ragging on the evo 8, its a nice car. by the way i had an evo for a weekend on the mitsu test drive thing, believe me i know its a blast to drive, but so is the sti.

Evo has a shorter steering rack.... 2.1 turns to lock... c'mon now... coilovers on an STi won't overcome that.
anyway, valid points from everyone. i think in the end it's personal preference. can't really go wrong with EVO, STi, G35 in any aspect. ... i just can't get over the points that i brought up about the STi.. and i don't like the wrx drivers i've come across...

hueman... i'm not a fan of spoilers either, but the evo is an exception. it looks way better with the spoiler, "ricey" or not. haha that's the part that makes me turn my head to see if it's an evo or a wannabe lancer. anyway, nice car!

I don't know where all these anti-Evo sentiment is coming from. Personally I think the Evo VIII is a nice looking car short of the altezza lights and the wing. Take away both (easily accomplished) and the Evo VIII would look a lot cleaner. I like the front bumper treatment and the new grey-purple metallic paint as well.
HOWEVER, the Imprezza IMHO is ugly as ever, they changed the headlight last year, which is different from the bug eye but equally nasty. The huge bread cutter hood scoop and grills don't help much. I don't care if the STi has performance or interior over the Evo VIII, I would hate to have to walk up to the STI every morning. With the exception of the new Legacy, Subaru is known for making some really ugly cars on the market today....
