I'm 16 too but i got the Auto and love it but>>> (Houston Traffic= A$$ =P). I've read alot on this site and most people say the G's Manual tranny is different and harder than the manual transmissions of other cars.

Are you an active person? Or lazy? Some people I know love the 6MT but don't always feel like driving it if they just want to cruise... I learned how to drive it no problem, I'm sure you'll be able to do the same, but it is one of the harder sticks to drive...

Also, like SteveBlake kind of said, traffic needs to be taken into consideration too... 6MT in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour gets annoying, haha.

Oh, hi.

welcome to the forums.
i'm 17, and got my 5AT when i was 16 (basically because i got the car in 06 but wanted an 05 and they had no 6mts left). i'd love a 6mt, but i still love my 5at. the only problems with 6mt are possibly oil consumption and/or a high clutch engagement point. however, the oil consumption is fixed with either a new engine (it's a pain in the *** though, search "oil consumption" and you'll understand) and clutch engagement point can be lowered a tad or just gotten used to.
i also live in LA, and LA traffic is horrendous. although i probably wouldn't mind driving a 6mt all the time, it depends on the person.

LMAO, lets not make this a flame war of 6MT vs. 5AT. to the 16 yr old kid,
a 6MT is MUCH more exhilirating when you're WOT, and chirping 2nd and 3rd
gear is about the best feeling you can have next to an orgasm, so if i were
to pick all over again i'd get the 6MT again.

get the 6mt, i highly regret getting my sedan automatic. Also, if your driving late at night it keeps up alert because you have to keep shifting gears.

its all personal preferance, i drove a civic hatch with a stage 3 cluch for 3 years and lemme tell you, you did not wanna see me in traffic lol, but when i decided to get a G, i wanted auto, 1. cause its kinda a luxury car and i would wanna just cruise in it 2. i figured if i wanted another stick car id just buy another hatch and use that, 3. the tiptronic is badass, i donno i think in a nice car like the g35 the auto is more practical, plus you can always scope bi+ches with out worrying about shifting
