Got my first ticket in G35 :(

I was driving on 85N near De Anza College in Bay Area and got a speeding ticket for going 81 in 65MPH zone. The cop said he was following me at 80MPH and I was still pulling on him. Honestly, he did not follow me except for the short distance when he pulled me over. I would not be driving 85MPH if there was a cop in my rear view mirror. Anyway, I was definitely going over 65MPH and since this is my first ticket in the past 4 years I will not challenge it and just go to traffic school to clear it from my driving record... Unless someone has a better idea on how to challenge cop who claims that he was pacing you?

Gxxxv-

I had almost an identical situation happen to me last weekend: <https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=>

In Cali, if you go to "traffic school" you don't get points asessed? Wish we had that here in CT! Honestly, if I had that option, I'd pay the fine and be done with it. Unfortunately, in CT, unless the judge dismisses the ticket, we get points asessed...even if we PAY IT!!!

Seems like a lot of people are getting these "pacing" tickets lately. I would think that's a pretty easy to fight. Unless he's within about 10 car lengths of you it would be pretty hard to tell if he's pacing you or going about 5 mph faster and slowing gaining. And like you said if there was a cop that close behind you, you wouldn't be going 80 in a 65.

Careful, usually you can challange the ticket OR take traffic school.

For example I just fought a ticket in court (from my old car..I was guilty and already took traffic school but figured why not). Well the cop didnt show (yay) but anyways while I was sitting there other people were going up. The judge would say "ok, you can take traffic school, or have a trial". Well they would say trial, the judge hears the case and just says "you're guilty bye". I'd suggest to go into court to see if the cop shows, and if he does dont even try to fight it just take traffic school.

After so many miles over the speed limit, you can't go to traffic school. I don't remember how many.
