Treetment against Rust Oil or Grease?
Hi all,
I've just purchase a used g35 coupe 2003. Now I must put some rustproofing,
what do you guys suggest? Oil or Grease?
I have a guy that do the Grease, which he even take off the doors ... I heard alot of good reviews from that guy he is even accredited by the APA which is The Automobile Protection Association (APA) is a membership based non-profit association dedicated to promoting consumer interests in the marketplace.
Thanks for your opinion.

Can you be more specific about which parts you're talking about rustproofing?
Usually people with rust concerns are mainly focused on the undercarraige, and most of the time people use stuff like POR-15 or RustBullet for that. I've also used a product called MasterSeries when I stripped and painted the entire frame on my Tacoma a year or 2 ago.... had good results with that.

I live in canada, so our winter are pretty cold. I need to put some "Anti-Rust"?? http://apa.ca/template.asp?DocID=11
I thought I should go to a specialized garage for that. In here, they have 2 kind of rustproofing : Oil and Grease.
I was wondering which is more recommended. Which one I should use ...

I've been driving in Canada for a long time, and I have never rustproofed any vehicle I've ever owned. The only car I ever had a rust issue with was a '77 Dodge, and that took almost 10 years to develop. The double galvanized steel used today is much more rust resistant, and most of the dealer applied and commercial treatments either trap water against the steel or drip on your driveway.
Well if you live in the South, I would not worry about it. Just clean the undercarriage with soap and water once a year to keep it clean. Also check the drain holes to assure they are clear for proper drainage. My last car [daily driver] in NY, I did not do anything but keep it clean. I would rinse out the wheel wheels once a month, and every spring I washed the undercarriage, wash & waxed the door jams, Hood James ,trunk jams, sun roof jams & wax the hole outer car including the wheel lips. I never had rust issues. If you live where it gets really bad and It remains cold for several months not allowing you to wash the car & you may have to take more drastic measures.
