Yea I changed the Domelights to the 9 Leds too. I just installed them bec they were leftovers, from my headlight CCFL clearence strip install. It was easy and free...No point in spending more money on the LEDs when theres no real point on doing it. I only turn them on when i need to find something..I sometimes find it somewhat useful..it doesnt hurt to have some light when you need it.

CCFL's are way brighter than LEDs in comparison. As Steveo has mentioned, LEDs will give you a spot light effect and CCFL's will spread the light out evenly.
If you think LED's are bright in your license plate area, you should try putting a 12" ccfl in there.

Good job Steveo. The stock lighting in the G isn't that great. My only complaint would be the same as Ahero's....location location location.
I know it's hard to conceal a 12" ccfl tube though. Maybe try two 4" tubes. That should be plenty bright.
