Im looking to do the same thing, since i have an 03 sedan with 35k miles on it. How much extra did you put down and how many miles are on the 06?

+1000

also do you plan on exhaust? if so Fast Intentions, Stillen, HKS, and TopSpeed Pro are very good exhaust... and if you wanna keep the sexy stock sound i would add some Fast Intentions High Flow Cats to make it deeper and louder

also tint and clear corners

I put down 1500 and paid about $24000. The dealer took my 2003 for $12550 and that had 88k miles on it. I had $10k left on the loan. The 2006 has 12k miles loaded without nav. Ill definitely admit the 6speed is much more fun then the auto was.

For looks I would go with some nice wheels. Makes your car looks fierce and adds to that already pitbull stance look our cars have.

For mods, yeah, I'll start with a Ztube, CAI, and exhaust.

Spacers. I heard from a buddy that 06/07 G's don't really need spacers since they are high rev engines. My buddy took off his Skunk spacer because it starting making his G crap out. After that no more problems.

Is that true?

I beg to differ. I've beaten a lot of people due to better cornering. I keep hearing this but I really don't have a problem with cornering.

Maybe you don't have the sport tuned suspension.

i suggest clear corners and tint for now. learn your car more. even tho you had a sedan, just learn the car. then after 2-3 months start with Z-Tube w/ Stillen Air Box or JWT Pop Charger

I have the sport tuned suspension on my '06 6MT coupe, and there is def A LOT of room for improvement. Tien Basics will do the trick for under 1k. Just my 2 cents.
