I have a g35 coupe. I was starting it up the other day and I heard a "grinding noise" has anyone ever hear this noise before? It also happens when you put the car in drive and take off.

 

what year is your G? 6MT? and is the noise coming from the engine bay?

yes its coming from the engine bay... The noise lasts for 2 seconds after starting it up or after putting it in drive. It is a slight grinding sound. I know its not the tranny because the car does not shift hard or anything.

^ i think it could be the ABS system doing a self-test, but thats just what im assuming form what i've read before

yeah it happens to me too. quite often actually. just ignore it. it goes away after few seconds.
