Is it possible to get within spec after a drop?
Is it possible to get within spec after a drop?
Hello All,
I am in the process of researching springs for my 03 Coupe. Of couse I am looking at the TEIN S and H techs as well as Eibachs.
I was curious how many of you had a drop and were able to get your G back into spec in which case a camber kit wasent needed?
I know it is better in the long run to get the kit, but I was curious who has dropped their G and have yet to purchase a camber kit, are you still getting normal tire wear? Or is it slightly accelerated even though you are technically in spec?
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

No personal experience with those springs, being I'm rolling with Cusco Zero2 coil-over and springs, but I believe the H specs you can get or stay in oem and the S techs I believe no in the rears, maybe yes in the fronts.
I'm dropped about like S techs sit, though I'm slammed in the rear now with over -2 camber and no kit F or R.
Tire wear is starting to show on insides ~20K on Dunlop Sport Maxx. More so in rear which is to be expected.
I figure I'll sacrifice tire wear for now for the improved negative camber handling benefits. I drive a lot of twisties
But on the flip side, I am considering a kit someday and if I do, I'll run -1.2 camber on all four for handling with still some accelerated tire wear.
Can't have the best of both worlds with that.
Even if you're in oem spec, which has a wide range, the more negative, the more accelerated wear is to expected.
