what would you pay??

hey guys/gals, im obviously new to this particular forum (not new to car forums in general) and have my eye on my buddy's Gcoupe.

im in the process of selling my A4 to buy his coupe and wanted to get some feedback as to what i should be paying for this ride.

its an 03' coupe, 6mt. has the aero package underneath, brembo brakes, spoiler, nav, etc. From what i understand, not an option was left out. its DG in color and has 12,500 miles on the speedo. he purchased the car last year.

fwiw, the car is mint condition. we are thinking of me picking the payments and doing a transfer of finances. i believe he owes 30 and some change left on the car.

so basically, would you buy this car for 30 thousand?

thoughts, advice considerations needed.

future G owner,
LN

Re: what would you pay??

i bought a 6mtC. i ordered in june, took deliv in sept (first of 04's). this was before any dealer gave discounts.

i managed to get 1250 off msrp. 32815 before tax, tags, doc fees. mine was mt, sunroof, mats

now some people have reported getting almost 3000 off.

i'd try to get vpp pricing and get new. only get options you care about.

04 6mtC, DG - possibly most babied G on the board.

Sticker on a new car like you're describing is around $38K. $30K in excellent condition with 12K miles sounds like a good deal to me.

LN288,
Sounds good! For sh--s and giggles, I would try Etrade and apply for a 30K loan on this car. If Etrade is willing to lend you the cash, I think it would be a good deal!
Just my $.02!

Re: what would you pay??

LN,

I've looked into used 03s and 04s and 30 for that car sounds like a pretty good deal. I would take it if I were you. I'm pretty sure your friend wouldn't have too much trouble selling to someone else if you didn't end up buying it. Like others mentioned, fully loaded its 37/38ish so 7 or 8K off for a 03 model is very good. Plus, its a good color, has average miles on it, and it has all the options you could get (even if you don't use some of them).
