I paid sticker price for my G35 AT prem. nav. splash. molding. of 36755. This was because I traded in a old 99 audi a4. which they said was worth 9200 at first. They gave me 11000 for my trade in, and tax savings was over 1000 (8.75% tax illinois). so its like i got a 1800 discount. and 1000 more for what my trade in was worth. what do you think?

The coupes still selling for sticker? Ouch! I picked mine up back in the spring of 2003 and at that time it was hard to get it for anything less than sticker, but even with that, I got $500 off. It wasn't anything big, but hey every little bit counts....

My girlfriend and I went shopping for some new price quotes just a month ago, and without even any haggling, we were getting quotes approx $1000 off sticker. I've heard members say they've even knocked off well into the $1500+ range, which is very respectable!

If you or anyone you know is paying sticker for a coupe these days, I would say its time to renegotiate, and or go to another dealer and ask for a better quote. It's their job to try and intimidate you and make you feel like they're doing you a favor at selling it to you at sticker. You gotta turn the tables around and tell them they can do better, or you'll go elsewhere and get it cheaper. Be firm, and if and when they notice they're gonna loose the sale, you'll see how quick those numbers come down...

As for your trade, I dont know what that car was worth, what condition it was in, so I cant answer any of that for you. If you got anything close to what the book says, consider yourself lucky...

I'm in a similar situation as you, where I already purchased a car and after the fact thinking if I got a good deal or not.

But to give you at least my honest opinion, it seems like you paid a lot for your car. Like I mentioned in another thread, I seems like others are getting 1 to 2.5K off msrp.

But the important thing is if you like your car. Just enjoy it and have fun driving it...

Here I kinda explained it wrong. Originally I was going to trade the car in for 9200. And they were going to give me 1800 off. Instead they applied the 1800 to my trade in and made it 11000 (9200 + 1800) so I got to save a extra 1000 in tax savings. Any better?

$1200-$1500 off sticker is about average in my neck of the woods.

Even Edmunds.com agrees with that.

 

I purchased my G35c 5AT last Sat. The dealer would only give $1000 off. To my surprise, I received an additional $550 off for an Aero package added by the dealer, but not on the Infiniti invoice. It wan't untill the PM that day that I discovered my good fortune. I guess the dealer lost the add-on sticker for his mods during the sale.

well, it's not that easy to get things less than sticker, if you're in HAWAII! man, there's only ONE, yes ONE dealer on the island of oahu. thank goodness one of the guys there is cool enough to keep it real. i was "lucky" to get mine $500 off sticker (thanks keegs!). but it worked out and i'm happy.
