Which would win if the g35c is AUTO and GT is MANUAL?

 

Well, against the GT's...its supposed to be a driver's race....however...i have defeated 2 GT's..one with a passenger..one not... both manual....i know they were manuals because of the chirps of the tire between shifts....i guess it depends on the launch or something...

I have raced 2 GT's and won each time by a very slim margin up to 2nd gear. The Auto vs manual situation would play against the GT more so than the G as the G has very similar performance in both. This is not the case for the GT

My first race when I got this car was against a 2000ish mustang GT from a 60 MPH roll. only raced him for the extent of third, and a slight bit of 4th (maybe to 95ish? I know I didnt break 100) and was eaisly 4+ cars on him and he had the jump from the roll because I wasn't expecting a race. My friend beat the ever living **** out of his 2002 GT at the track and pulled a best of 14.2, but his avg run is ~14.7. I was assuming this would make for quite a close race, but I guess I was mistaken... I'm really curious to find out what I can run with this car bone stock, which is why I'm waiting to do atleast one 1/4 mile pass with the car stock before modding. I've heard figures of 14.6 all the way down to a 13.8. Realistically, I feel this car is capable of 14.0-14.2 if driven hard and by an experienced driver. Woulda figured a GT woulda been more of a challenge.

I go to Englishtown Raceway Park, the local drag strip by me. I'm sure you have on near you, just look online. Use google or something of the sort, search for *drag strip* *state your in* and im sure you'll find one.

i think it'll be a drivers race...

 

i would give the nod to the mustang if it was driven by a decent driver. all you have to do is just stomp on the pedal on the G35.. its not that easy to get a good launch on a stick and shift properly at the right time.

 

If the GT got a good launch, then it would win.

I raced a GT from a 2nd gear roll and had him in 2nd, 4th and 5th gear. He pulled on me in 3rd gear but It was over when I hit 4th. He rolled down his window and gave the DG G35 it's props.

 

Yes if driven well the 99+ Gt manual will beat an auto G coupe or sedan, manual to manual they are close.

 

It's funny how us G35 owners mostly post the races we win. I bet people from Mustang and other forums tells stories one time or the other about how they beat the
Gs. Just a guess.

 

Not sure about stock but I got destroyed by an '03 with I/H/E and drag slicks. We chatted a while after and he still said he'd still take the G any day over his car.

 

I raced a 2002 GT with my 04 G35 last week and smoked the [censored] out of him by about 6 car lengths. It seems no matter where i drive, someone wants to race me. The dude got pissed off after he lost and popped a U-Turn.

I had a 2002 GT 5 spd and i must say the straight line acceleration is right on par with my g35 6mt.
