Okay guys, recently i have been doing a lot of street racing without really thinking of the consequences. I have been involved in races that reached speeds of over 135 five times in the past week. I love to race my G as it is part of the reason i bought the car. However, after seeing these pictures, i've decided to calm down a lot. For me, its either the track or just street LIGHT racing. No more crazy races involving insane speeds with other cars around on public roads like the taconic or sprain or 287. I've seen a lot of pictures of wrecked cars before and heard many stories of people dying in car accidents but nothing has ever really had that much of a profound effect on me like these pictures have. I am not sure if you all have already seen these pictures but i am going to post the site to where you can take a look. I would post the pics up myself but it would be unfair and cruel to those who don't want to look. These images are disturbing, strong stomaches are a must.

You are right, 135 is way excessive, dangerous, and very expensive if the law catches you. I cannot resist gunning my G when first at a light, especially if there is a fast car next to me. But I back off when I hit 10 mph over the speed limit or so.

I have paid enough speeding tickets, taken enough defensive driving classes.

heavy racing or light racing (as you called it) aside...you can still easily die in a 35mph crash.

jesterev, are you from nj. i just put my new sf winnings on today, they are sweet. anyway, have a few things done, intake, exhaust, waiting to install xerd headers. going to englistown next friday. you should let me know if you want to go. i am going with my neighbor, he has e55 amg, and one of my boys, has a worked rsx. let me know if you are interested.

 

Just read about a guy who went and blew a street racers head off and trashed his car with a shotgun after the street racer caused an accident that killed his wife and baby daughter!

Thing is..... I've seen pictures like this before, but were they raceing? Seems to me like the title should read...."why not to speed"

I worst thing I've see is a person that was 1/2 (maybe 1/3) stuffed in a glovebox during a 90+mph wreak. It was back in High school and I was "shadowing" an accident investigator.

The lucky thing was the driver lived, I guess they were just speeding when they hit a piece of a lost truck tire. He lost control and hit the side of an overpass wall. His passenger was looking for CD's in the glovebox w/o a seatbelt. Ugh.

Those pics are from Brasil, the guy was probably just speeding, not racing with anyone else. I saw pics of the car before but not of the persons on it. Ugly stuff, very hard to see at the scene, keeps coming back to memory...
