Congrats! Should double think the cf roof overlay. It looks really fake and it's kinda ricey bu if you dig it. Also, with those s techs make sure to get a camber kit or say good bye to your tires.

I am rethinking the carbon fiber roof overlay. do you think i should go with black roof overlay or nothing?

Also that sucks. the shop that is installing my s techs said i wont be needing a camber kit for it. what the hell

Some people don't like having a manual daily driver for various reasons. I'm rocking the 5AT because I don't really fancy spending 1 to 2 hours on the DC/Baltimore beltway in stop and go traffic every day for the next four years (in grad school).

I don't know about you, but I live in SOCAL (THE OC) and traffic is a biotch. But I rather drive a 6mt in traffic then an auto. When I drove an auto, traffic drove me crazy. Now that I have the 6mt, i'm not as moody as I use to be in traffic.

If you think about it, its basically the same thing as an auto. In an auto, u have to step on the gas, let go and then step on the break. In the 6mt, you rarely ever have to use the break in traffic. And i'm usually resting in neutral if there no movement.

I totally back the black overlay, I'm getting that for my car too. As for your shop saying you don't need a camber kit, thats just dumb. If you went with 350z H-techs you could get away without having a camber kit since the drop is so mild. Even in that case, you will eventually start seeing premature wear on your tires because your negative camber is increased. The s-techs give much more of a drop over the h-tech and they will increase your negative camber even more. Now it's not like your tires are going to wear out in a week or a month, but they most def will get uneven wear on the faster side. I'm on h-techs and just did the spring mount mod and I dropped it an additional 1/2 inch. I did this on Saturday and I ordered a rear camber kit the same day because I knew it would be more needed now and for $169 it's a smart investment seeing that my tire were like $1k.

Different strokes for different folks; I just think it's stupid when stick drivers try to ostracize auto drivers. They don't realize that sometimes it's not by choice and not everybody wants to be commuting for an hour in stop and go traffic at 6am in the morning in a manual for the foreseeable future. If you can bear it, that's great, you're a more persevering stick driver than I.

The guy at this shop is a freaking moron then. I told him i want a mild drop and i mentioned 350z H techz and he told me to get the G35 S techs. Then i ask him should i get a camber kit and he said you wont need it. Im pissed and they already ordered my stuff, i dont feel like waiting another week for them to get a camber kit in.

I believe the s techs give a 1.5" drop all around and the h techs are 0.3 drop in the front and 0.2 in the rear which is very mild. don't sweat it man, the s techs will look hot as hell, just make sure to at least get the rear camber kit. Like I said you don't HAVE to have it this second but I'd get it in the next 2-3 months.

As for stick vs. auto...I back auto. Driving in Chicago traffic there is no way in HELL I'd want to drive stick. Besides, most of the fastest cars in the world are auto...FTW!

Oh man, I've barely had my g for a month, and I haven't even put one mod on it yet. Glad to see your able to do so much mods in such little time, oh man if only money grew on trees.
