help removing stock shifter
Re: help removing stock shifter
I have the titanium shifter on there also. Take my advice and have the dealer do it. Reason why I say that is a buddy and I attempted to take the shifter off and didn't have any luck. We had 2 pipe wrenches and a couple of towels, one wrapped around the base of the shift rod, the other around the ****. We turned the thing friggen hard, to the point it felt like it was going to break. Not wanted to screw up the car I took it to the dealer. Two of their mechanics broke it loose in about 20 seconds, only problem is they also broke the piece that keeps the rod from spinning on the inside. They had to replace the entire shift assembly. I'm glad they broke it and not me...
**** is on now, I love it. Just don't park your car in the sun on those really hot days!!

Re: help removing stock shifter
I installed my Nismo **** myself. Just used two vice grips and pieces of a large rubber band around the shift rod and the old ****. Just hold the rod in place and twist the **** counter clockwise. It's not easy, but once you loosen it up, it's pretty easy. Just make sure the rod itself doesn't move.
