Window on door open
I just got my front windows tinted!
The bad thing is that somehow my driver side window does not go down the same amount as it did before upon opening the door. I don't think it's from the thickness of the tint since the other side is just fine. And also when I have my window down and I open the door and then close the window it almost goes all the way up.
Has anyone had this? Is there an easy fix or do I have to take it to the dealer?
Thanks ahead....

Take a look at the rubber trim at the bottom of the windows on the inside, sometimes they push this down into the door to get more space for the tint. Maybe this is causing some resistance.
But since you just got the car tinted I would not roll the windows up or down for a few days, since you will mess up the tint. Taking it to the dealer, they may mess it up also.
If you can wait a couple of days until you can roll the window all the way up and down.
But if you REALLY have to know, the door panel is real easy to take off. 1 trim and 3 screws and some clips.

Re: Window on door open
The tint was heat dried so it was somewhat ok to open althogh I only did for couple of times.
What's interesting is that when the door and the window are open and I try to close the window, it should stop short of closing full but it does not. So I don't think there is anything prevented the window from going down when the door is opened.
I kinda think that the set point of how far the window goes down when door is opened has somehow changed. Is this posible and if yes how can I change it back to normal?

I wouldn't doubt the installers screwed something up. I'm personally skeptical to have any after-market stuff done to my cars because of that. Many times you have teenagers tearing through your car without much regard to what they might break in the process.

The drop in the window is to be able to open the door without the window binding on the frame. Neat feature as long as it keeps working ok.

I think the beemer coupes do the same thing. Supposed to keep the window track from getting damaged by interior pressure when closing the door I think. I would take the car back to the shop and open a can of whoop a$$ on them. I am going this weekend to get mine done and it better be perfect or else... he he

Yeh I feel the same way--- It better be perfect!
Doubt a can of "whoop-a$$" will be necessary but you never know. I find Nissan/Infiniti service is very good up here in Ontario,(in most cases) and they do everything to make you happy.
They've heard of those cans of whoop-a$$ and don't enjoy them, I'm sure, from peeps that have spent big $ on these cars. LOL
My windows are fine up 'till now- I hope they stay that way.Good luck with your visit.
