Weak sauce? Caliper paint question

Ok, so i'm looking at my car, thinking of how i'd like it to look.
My factory calipers are a lil... boring. But I just can't justify a BBK... So much $$$...

I love the factory Brembo look on the 03-04s... So heres the question,
(please don't flame me too badly...)

Would it be weak sauce to paint my factory calipers Gold or Red with an aftermarket caliper paint???

Once again, this is completely for looks. I give huge props to those of you with performance mods! I'm personally really happy with the way my car drives, stops etc. I just want to dress it up...

Here is a pic, for reference...

paint em gold, i dont understand how it would look GAY, i didn't know there was a unwritten rule saying uless you have a BBK your calipers have to look like shiit, lol, i mean dont paint them bright red or something ridiculous, but i say do it, it will def. look good!

I mean painting calipers always been ..meeh.. it's nice when your by yourself but the second u pull up next to a car with real calipers *brembos, etc etc* u notice the diff. almost immediately. My girl the furthest away from car savvy as one can be n she notices them on the fly lol. I would upgrade but if painting makes u happy then by all means bro.

You do not even like the Megan Racing BBK? It is half the price of AP racing and such. There is a group buy on it now. Take a look at it. But anyway, if you want to paint them, then do it. Who cares what other people think.

Eh...not my cup of tea to do that on my boring oem 06's. They are what they are. I'm saving for the real thing.

Know someone who did paint theirs red and from a distance looks cool. Get up close and it's obvious they're not the real thing.
First thought in my head was....rice, but no flaming intended. It's your ride and have seen worse done to G's. It's your G. Enjoy it in whatever way you wish it to look.

Haha...think I've even seen 'brembo' stickers on Flebay you can stick on after ppl paint their eom's gold... sry...

i felt exactly what you thought, i decided to at first paint my stock calipers, (i didnt paint them i had them powder coated) after about 2 years i finally upgraded to a big brake kit, i would say you should either do nothing or go for the facotry brembo kit, or another big break kit. good luck.

2.5 years ago.

now a days

If I were to paint mine, I'd go with black.. not a color that would stand out.

Just paint them black to hide the ugly color, and if you want to later on get some brembo (or whatever) calipers and maybe new rotors etc etc etc

if you're gonna do something to your car, make sure you do it right the first time. I learned from my previous car. just save some $$ until you can afford a BBK....
