Got into a bad accident in NJ

Hey guys, my shoulders and arms hurt so i cant type too much. But to make the long story short, a **** in black SUV pretty much cut me off on the turnpike and i ended up hitting the divider at like 60mph or so and spinning multiple times before ending up at the other side of the NJ turnpike. The front part of my car is damaged, and there's a little damage to the sides and back side.. I didnt get hurt too bad.. I also want to say the G35 is a strong car.. I felt the impact really hard and i was suprised that the damage wasnt more..By the way my airbags didnt deploy(just so you know that the damage wasnt too bad) I could have taken pictures but its in a body shop..

Ok second part,
I called my insurance company, they towed the car to a body shop in Middlesex county NJ(Central Jersey Garage) on stelton road piscatway, and they want me to fax them a copy of the police report..

Ok i called the body shop and they said it would take 2-4 weeks to fix.. Im wondering if this is too long? some kid said his 350z was badly damaged and they fixed it in 2days. if u know a body shop that does good/fast job in NJ, please tell me so i can have my insurance company tow it there.

Thanks drive safe

Sorry to hear that man...hope things work out for you. I probably had a comparable damaging accident and it took about 3 months. Everything in the auto industry lags.

Sorry to hear of your accident bro. The G is probably one of the best cars to be in if you have a crash.
Not sure if 2-4 weeks is out of line. It probably depends on how busy they are now. I wouldn't rush them if I were you. The fix time will depend on parts availability.
Just make sure the insurance will cover your replacement car for that long.
We're glad you're relatively uninjured, and good luck with the repairs.

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

Sorry to hear you hurt your G....
At least the both of you are alright....

As far as Auto Body shops go...depending on how good they are and how busy...it could take a few weeks.
If you want it done correctly, take the time necessary to allow them to do a good job. Rushing along will only leave you dissappointed...

I know it must suck not to have your car, but in the end you'll be glad that it took a little longer than you expected....
Just for your info...my wife tagged the back bumper on my car and they said it would take about one week till they could do it and another 2-3days for them to fix and repaint....$475 later...I'm just waiting until I either get more damage or new mod bumper....2old4this

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

2fast,
I live in NJ also and I got into 2 accidents...one a girl hit me in rear right quarter panel. About 5K in damage...took about 3-4 weeks to fix...Then a few years later a Fire Truck hit me..that took about a week. The reason it takes so long, is because the auto body shop should be ordering the parts from the manufacture and not using after market...
Good luck, and glad you are safe...last week they had a really bad double fatal on the turnpike or parkway (can't remember which)

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

I feel you. I hit a wall on Friday and jacked up the whole front bumper and right front fender. It was very driveable though but still it is a pain in the a$$. Wheel is shot to hell. I dropped mine off in the body ship Monday and probably will take a few weeks. They are going to blend the B/Silver paint on the right door, paint the mirror fender all the way around from the hood to the other side of the car to match it. It sucks man....... o well...

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

Hey sorry to hear about the accident. The whole deal is I was also in an accident with my G in Sept.2003. The good news is the G is like the best car in accident in terms of passenger safety. The bad news is the front is strong is some areas but weak in others where u are probably experiencing a ton of cosmetic damage but hardly any serious damage. With that in mind the parts will be ordered from the manufacturer which might take some. The wrench time is the shortest time, its the wait on the parts. Hopefully your parts will come in a timely fashion and the car will be done fast. Its all about the parts bro, sorry to hear. On another note quite a few people have had accidents with their cars.

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

my car is in the body shop right now getting the fender and bumper replaced. Someone sideswiped me in JANUARY! It took them 2 months jsut to send me the check to get it fixed and now it is going to be at the shop for 2-3 weeks. I got a rental car though. First they gave me a seabring (SP?) convertible, but that thing fell apart after my 3rd day with it, so they told me to bring it back and now I have a Ford Explorer XLT. I love it! And perfect timeing for this snow we have today!

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

HA HA RidinThaGSpot - to make a long story short...I am on a rescue squad in NJ...we get dispatched for a car accident on the highway possible entrapment female prego..so I go to the scene...I am very far away from the actual accident. I asess the patient...she is okay. We end up taking her to the hospital to be checked out. I am walking back to get my car and the chief askes if I have any front end damage...I say no..well turns out that the fire truck pulls past me, backs up and forgot I was there...
I couldn't stop laughing for weeks...it was just way too funny no to laugh at...needless to say, they suspended the driver from driving for a few months...too funny.

Glad to hear you're ok, almost. The car, it can be fixed and per everyone else, yes, it will take time. Let it take a while and you recover. Be well.

Re: Got into a bad accident in NJ

Well I was in a 5 car chain accident on Friday also. Im getting realy upset with this whole nice car thing and trying to keep it in good condition..

The G is expensive to fix but doesnt get damaged to bad. The car in front of me trunk was open bumper was hanging off and the car behind me hood was bent in half and busted his ratiator. My car only has a crack in the front bumper and hole in the rear, bent exhaust, cracked grill and a lil dent on the cornor of the hood. All the rest of the bamage is scrapes/scratches. All the parts need to be replaced but compaired to the other 4 cars espically the one behind me (flatbeded) the damage wasnt that bad...

Got the Nismo exhaust on the way hehe.
