G35 6MT vs. Ford Econoline Van
G35 6MT vs. Ford Econoline Van
My 3-wk old, 600 mile G35 was the victim of a hit and run last night by a Ford Econoline Van. I was turning into a restaurant parking lot from a main street and the van was coming out and nailed my back left rear and spun me around.... dropped the bumper on the left side, slightly dented the quarter panel, broke the tail light... He also managed to scratch my driver-side wheel in the process. I immediately went after the SOB and caught him pretty quickly as he was weaving in and out of traffic trying to get away, obviously drunk. Got his plate # and had the cops on the cell phone but they wouldn't send a car out to intercept ... UNBELIEVABLE !!! The cops are WORTHLESS in Houston... too busy collecting speeding taxes to stop a hit-and-run drunk driver going down I-45. I still can't believe it.
What a complete downer... body shop estimates 2 wks. to repair and $2500 to $3000. At least looks like structural damage was minimal.
