LED tail & brake lights
Hey,
As we all know, the tail lights and brake lights of our G's are LED lights. I know that LED lights typically last way longer than regular bulbs, but does anybody know for how long? I have a feeling that when one or a few of these LED bulbs burn out, it will be complicated and expensive to replace. So to prolongue the life of the bulbs, when I am at a light, I don't hold the brake down (my car is a 6MT so it doesn't start moving), and if I'm sitting on a hill, I usually pull the hand brake up (I figure the lttle "BRAKE" light is easier to repair than the tail lights!!). Should I not be doing this?? Does anybody know for how long the LED tail lights and brake lights are supposed to last? Anybody want to provide their advice on this issue?
Thanks,

Re: LED tail & brake lights
A typical LED will last for over seven years... constantly on 24/7 that is! Higher quality LEDs will last for 11 years constantly on. If the circuit is designed with the proper resistance, you should have no worries. Your engine can be worn away with over 300k miles and your original factory LEDs should still function.

In the oil industry (or at least my small part of it) we replace our LED indicator lights every 7 years as a preventive maitenance precaution. I've never seen one burn out because of use though, only due to too much current!
