Stiffening Up The Car...

Anyone out there that has several of the following (the more the better):

- Sway bars
- Chassis reinforcement brace
- Rear lateral arm brace
- Rear tie brace
- Front lower tie brace
- Rear strut tower brace
- Front strut tower brace

I am just wondering if getting all or several of these things will noticeably improve the rigidity of the car and make it more solid on the road. I already have sway bars on the way and am aware that with the combination of strut tower braces the car is noticeably stiffer. I am debating if all these undercarriage tie braces and reinforcement braces by GTSpec are worth getting as well.

Anyone have experience with these in combination with sways and STB's? Or are sways and STB's enough?

I just put the cusco sway bars on and although I've noticed a difference, its still not enough..I also have the 3 piece gt spec bars and JIC coilovers which be going in sometime in the next couple months..I hope with these parts I'll achieve what I'm looking for.

I have the Stillen sways set at stiff/stiff and the ACR front strut bar with Tein S Tech springs and Tokico shocks and the car still has too much roll.

The chasis was noticeably stiffer with the addition of the front strut bar, but there is still too much roll going into corners.

My next step is to either go coilovers or significantly stiffer springs to try to reduce body roll. VinNYCG has the right idea--I may end up with the JIC as well--just make sure you get the correct spring rate with them.

I'm on the fence about the GT Spec bars. The car is already so low that speedbumps are a problem, so adding the brace is going to make that even worse. I don't know how much the other pieces will help and I know there is some concern over fitment of the rear brace due to the length of the toe bolts.

My overall suggestion would be: sways, front strut brace, stiffer springs and shocks to start with. You really need springs with a higher rate than the Teins IMO because they just squat too much going into turns.

Keep'in it stiff....!

My car is pretty stiff with the mods I've installed. I feel that I haven't
done all I can with my sways so I'm going to order adjustable swaybar
end links. That should take any unwanted flex out of the bars....

So anyone got any of those GTSpec lower reinforcement braces installed? Any pros/cons? You rubbing the ground now? Fitting issues?

I have all of the braces that are offered for the g35 by gtspec. I love what they do for the stiffness of the car. That said, the only one I have an issue with is the 4 point mid chassis brace. I couldn't get it to fit over my exhaust, so put some spacers between the brace and the frame. Now it scrapes when going over speed bumps and steep driveways. Without the spacers it wouldn't be a problem, so I'm getting ready to pull it off until I can find another solution to the exhaust clearance issue.

I'm pretty sure you will notice ahuge difference with all of that. Are you going to track it? If not then all of that may be overkill for daily use.

I have everything on your list except the 4-point chassis brace and the rear strut tower bar. The sways bars made a huge difference. The front strut tower bar has not made any noticeable difference. I just added the three GT Spec braces and haven't really pushed it yet to be able to evaluate the change. Haven't gotten on the track yet but I definitely plan to this year. HKS Hipermax RS coilovers also made a huge difference.

Edit: Andy at Performance Nissan said that GT Spec is working on a set of fender braces for the G35 although it might be a while before they are available. I'd also like to add a set of adjustable end links as gary c mentioned to eliminate any preload on the sway bars.

Nice paint... did you order that or have it painted/painted it yourself? I'm thinking of getting red.

The ones for the 350Z do not fit on a G35 coupe. However, GTSPEC is working on a set for a G35 coupe. No idea if they will also fit a G35 sedan or not, though

I have Stillen Sways, Tein Flex shocks, front tower brace and 19 inch rims (275 rear) - no roll - at all. I can't imagine anything that could improve on this setup. It goes around corners perfectly flat like a go-cart (any speed).

I have the circuit sports front strut bar and the GT spec mid chassis brace. I feel that the mid chassis brace made a bigger difference, especially when going over speed bumps/uneven road.

I also had the problem with the exhaust hitting the mid chassis brace. I made a new exhaust hangar rubber mount for the mid pipe, that raised the exhaust by about 1.5 cm, and the problem was solved.
