I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I GOT IT!!!!!

Sweet mother of god I got it!!!

Took delivery this afternoon of a Black 6MT with premium package and aero. The car was a dealer trade from a dealer in Illinois but they DROVE it here instead of shipping it. As such there was 600 miles on the odometer but my salesguy (Tony Pinto of Infiniti of Dayton) took off about 500 bucks from MSRP and throw in a full set of those rubberized floormats for free to make up for it. Also gave me a hat, a laser pointer (shaped like the G), leather CD case and some other goodies.

AWESOME SALES EXPERIENCE! I got a fair trade in for my '91 300ZX and everything was done above board. I couldnt be happier. They even reset some of my mode settings for free. They had a problem with the headlight delay setting but are going to call Infiniti and see what they need to do to get it reprogrammed.

So, my 2 month old saga is now complete. I HAVE MY NEW CAR!!!

What do I think of it??? IT ROCKS!!! Handles firmly and assuredly, incredible braking, smooth acceleration.

I noticed no problem with the passenger window (no streaking) heard no rattles, everything seems tight. Bose is FAR better than I would have been lead to believe from comments on other boards.

Seating position is much different (higher up) than my Z and I wish the seat bottom would tilt back a little further but I will get used to it. The side bolsters do rub a bit against my thigh but its tolerable. Perhaps as the seats get broken in they will loose a little of their rigidity.

Here in Ohio we have been getting hammered with snow and I got to test out those Pilot's on some snow. In short. THEY SUCK. I am used to driving high torque rear wheel cars in bad weather but i can not recommend driving this car (at least the manual with those 18's) in the snow with those stock tires.

Thats fine though, I was expecting it so it was no surprise.

Exhaust sound is beefy but still a little on the quiet side (to me).

Fit and finish are exceptional.

I didnt think I would like the aero kit but you HAVE to see it in person. Its too sweet and more subtle (at least in black) than you would think.

Really, aside from the seat position (which is more a familiarity concern than design) I am totally happy with this car. Its light years better than my Z ever was.

Here are some pics that were taken today after I fishtailed into a parking spot. I thought I was going to be stuck for a moment but I was able to reverse out of the predicament I was in. Let me say it again, those stock tires are BAD in snow..Bad bad bad. But they will rock once it warms up here

Nice car dude, black is beautiful.
Don't go too far with the 'pilots' . As you've said and they are useless in the snow. There's been a few mishaps lately with them. Go the extra and get yourself some snows ASAP.
Good luck bro, and spring is almost here

Re: I GOT IT I GOT IT I GOT I GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First off, here is the obligatory close up picture of the Brembo's. ;-)

Thanks guys! All day long I have been walking around with this stupid grin on my face. Read the WHOLE manual earlier and then spent an hour just sitting in the car playing with all the settings and controls.

Went for a little late night spin as I couldn't resist the urge to drive around. Found a nice open area covered in snow and ice and practiced the limits of the traction control and how the car recovers.

One thing that I am still having trouble adapting to is the drivers seat. That bolster on side really tends to rub up against my thigh and even though I play with the seat and steering wheel heigth settings almost constantly I have not yet found that sweet spot.

I do kind of wish I had that arm rest though as my right arm never seems very comfortable either. I hope they can retro-fit those in once they are made available.

Cool thing I just discovered is that you can change the current CD from the steering wheel radio control. Nice! Shame there is no light on those buttons though.

Oh well, my list of complaints is still pretty minor. I am hopeful that I will figure out the best seating position soon.

Congrats - Get Michelin X-ice3 tires immediately

I just got mine today and it also had Michelin Pilot Super sport tires and I had them get Michelin Ice-X3s before I picked it up. Summer tires get hard as marbles under 50 degrees - I learned that the hard way with my first Subaru. At minimum you need good all-season tires but with a rear wheel drive car consider getting dedicated ice/snow winter tires, and finding a nice set of wheels for the summer. If the tires you have now are in good shape you can just keep them on the current wheels and get a used set to put the winter tires on. My last 4 cars have been AWD (3 Subarus, 1 Audi) and the best way was to have the original wheels with the winters and get a nicer set of wheels for the spring/summer. Good luck!
