Coupe Seats- Focus Group
Coupe Seats- Focus Group
Thought I tell you all that I participated in an independent focus group last week in Los Angeles. The subject was the seats & seat belts on the G35c. There were four coupe owners, including myself. We were asked questions about our likes/dislikes about seats/belts & any other problems or dislikes about the car. I guess Infiniti is getting customer complaints and want to do fixes/design changes, on up-coming models. Biggest complaint was the manuel seat back adjustment, should be motorize w/memory. Other complaints were, quality of leather, seat heaters, etc. Many complaints about the seat belt guide. Raddles, hits the seat/door when returning, no height adjustment. Other issues talked about ranged from: paint, dip stick, brake squeeks/dust, no oil pressure guage, self programing of navi. We all felt that the coupe is a great car, good price, but for the top of the line Infiniti, Nissan's overall quality (Int./Ext.) should be a little higher. I guess Infiniti is trying hard to design/build a "greater" coupe in the future.

Thanks for letting us know. Let's hope Infiniti makes a few changes for future models. Sounds like they're listening.

the only design in the coupe i hated is the twisted dipstick, the rest i could live with. sometimes the dipstick will get stuck in the funnel guide when you pull it out.
i think the seatbelt guide is really helpful. they shouldn't complain about it, rather they should complain about the B pillar being so far back, but that's the trade off you get for a very sleek coupe design. about the belts not returning, all belts will not return if it gets twisted.
it would be good to have memory seats on the coupe, my gf drives it every now and then. i got squeaky brakes sometimes, so what? as long as i know what the problem is and nothing's broken i dont care.
oil gauge? cmon now, how many here really know how to interpret the readings on the oil gauge? im sure there are some like me but before you notice extreme oil pressure changes, you'll probably see your temp gauge shoot up or feel changes in the way the car runs.
leather seats quality, manual seat recline, interior quality and other creature comforts are all personal preferences which is just right i think for the car's price, no complaints. got no prob w/ the heated seats either.

Please don't kill the messenger. Something is going on with Infiniti about G35c seats & belts. If not, why would they hire an independent survey firm, pay people to show up and talk about seats/belts for 2 hours? I think the design of the seats are great. Everyone knows that an automaker tries to design their models for that targeted group, however small/large that group is. Personally, it tells me that at least Infiniti cares what their owners think and might take their thoughts into consideration with future fixes and designs

rrowen, sorry but it was not meant for you. coz some ppl would think infiniti could have done better, yes they could, but at more cost. and in the end it will lose its bang4dbuck or a lot of car for the money presentation. i also made that post to make me feel good about the monthly payments i put on this car.
