Yes I have a ACT 6 puck clutch and race flywheel. In low rpm's in 2nd gear that **** sounds like monsters in my tranny.... no joke. however the performance gains far outweigh the negative, in saying that though you better have a strong leg and have no shame of sounding like your car is about to roll over and vommit.

i used to have the Tilton race clutch/flywheel... it was so fckin loud, it almost sounded like i had the car boosted or charged or something... amazing acceleration though and revs real fast. Highly recommend a true racing clutch if you are willing to launch your car every time you stop.

my understanding is that a lot of aftermarket flywheels make noise, so the dealership is more or less right. not sure about train tracks though. that and they are pretty **** if they said no to that install... makes no sense.

they wouldn't even ****ing install NISMO .. and thats considering its passport Nissan and *NO exaggeration* 10 steps away Passport Inifiniti... so it's basically leave one building and enter the next... and i was like U can't install it?... their *******s i hate that ****ing dealership.. it's why i go to Nissan a lot more often.. but which clutch would u recommend tho.. i don't want a full fledged Drag racing one... just one thats both better performance but also decent for a Daily driver... also.. please im a college student so please don't put pricey *** clutches...

Thanks

I think the ACT clutches are more forgiving and drivable. In addition, they aren't THAT pricey, but as far as I know all clutches are just pricey, period. I mean, if you get the dirt cheap ACM it might be like 500 bucks vs 1100 for a Tilton. Look into ACT, I just hear they are a "good" upgrade while retaining some drivability.

Yea i was looking at 600 ish.. 1100 is a lil too much for my blood.. tryna find the best bang for the buck and i see a ton of people left and right swear JWT is the best for the bang.. it seems their either a hit or miss with people lol. so many people love/hate em.

Ah yeah I heard about JWT as being alright and about the same level as the ACT. I am really not big on clutches since I apparently suck at them. I messed up my first clutch on my new coupe at about 9k because I learned on it and I raced it and did other stupid stuff. Then I got the Tilton and completely ruined it after about 1200 miles, because I drove it like a normal clutch. So basically I am just done with modding my clutch. I've been stock for over a year now and just taking it easy.

So if anyone has an "upgrade" clutch for newbs to recommend, I'd actually be interested too.

I just need something that maybe has more grip and durability, but can still be driven like a normal clutch (no launching and fancy shifting). Lighter flywheel would be great too, I loved the 9lb Tilton fly... was basically amazing while it lasted, haha!

Oh and to answer you, ACT and JWT both have models for and under $600 to my knowledge, just Google both of them to get some price comparisons.

street disc

just get the ACT street disc clutch. it is a step down from what i have but what i have is pretty rough as a daily driver. However i love it and am use to it(6 puck clutch) now. I am sure the performance gain is not that great and as a daily driven clutch i'm sure you will still have fun with the disc.

For anyone new to manual transmissions i suggest you master proper shifting before you worry about getting crazy performance clutches. First you must master step one before you can move on. It is about smooth shifts, first focus on the smooth transition between throttle control and clutch release.

I'm just having trouble stepping up to aggressive shifting and nailing down a fast shift without hurting the clutch.
