Last weekend I took my G and my friend's STI to the track. I had a lot of fun in the G as usual but the STI was 3 seconds faster!
BTW the STI I was racing belongs to a female friend.

I did for a couple of laps just to get some pics (S-03).
After that heat I switched to my LE37 with Hoosiers.

BTW the video was taken by a friend so I don't know why is so choppy

It's probably choppy because it was taken with a digital camera (w. movie feature) rather than a camcorder.

What size Hoosiers were you running?
That chicane's pretty intimidating, not much room for mistake. I'm sure it's not something one thinks about when behind the wheel, as adrenaline and tunnel vision settles in.

I am doing a my first road course in a few weeks, and man I could use some tips! aren't you worried about hitting that wall? You drive with VDC off right?

 

Pretty good dirving. Now ? is the vdc off or on..? But great video great driving....

VDC has to be off or you wont be able to do much. VDC kicks in to fast (too sensitive) not good for my driving stile.

Yes, the walls are close but I dont think about them (adrenaline kicks in)

Hoosiers are 245 frt & 275 rear on 18" Volk LE37T.

That chicane has clame a couple of front ends (my friend's red G35c, an S2000, a couple of WRX & STI)
BTW that same weekend a WRX and a EVO8 where victims of the chicane before the straight way.

TIPS,
I've been road racing my G since May 03 and the car is real easy to drive ( its very predictable) and the power delivery is not as much as to loose traction out of a turn, however don't let it over steer on breaking or you'll be in trouble, trust me.
